How long does it take for episiotomy to heal?

I'm 2 and a half weeks post partum. Only had my stitches checked once so no idea how they're healing now or how long it takes.

I had an episiotomy with DC1 and tear with DC2, both with stitches. I remember pain for the first few days and then itching after a week or so and think that was the healing part.
Have you angled a mirror to check yourself?

Mine took about a month to feel better . At my 6 week check up I was told I was fully healed but to be honest I still didn’t feel 100% down there . It was another few weeks before I think I felt completely normal again .

Mine was pretty much pain free after 2 weeks I think.

Mine was very painful when sitting for about a week. Couldn’t do much walking until about three weeks later. My stitches healed fine by the six week check.
However, I got twinges for months afterwards, so took a long break from sex.

Thanks. I've had barely any pain at all from it, I wasn't even aware I'd had an episiotomy until the day after when the midwife told me. Only "pain" I've had is a dull ache.

I didnt feel right til about 10 weeks. It felt odd and sore when I wiped. I thought for a long time it would never be right again but it did work out fine. I just didnt take it easy enough and didnt look after the stitch site enough.

It was 4/5 weeks for me to feel fully recovered from forceps and episiotomy.

I really struggled to sit or stand for the first fortnight after mine. Stitches dissolved between 3 and 4 weeks. The scar ached when walking for about 6 months - I'd started to worry it wouldn't feel 'normal' ever again.

Had a tear with my second and healing process was much faster and easier!

I would get it checked if you're concerned. I presumed it was meant to be sore but it turned out it was infected and had actually eaten away into my thigh. It was awful and didn't heal for a long time.

I would recommend adding lavender oil drops and milk into as bath each evening to help with healing. Use it as a good chance to get some you time. For me it was closer to 10 weeks to heal, remember it being agitated by my knickers. On plus side, next two births were a breeze after the forceps and episiotomy x

I think it had healed by about the 4 week mark, and when I had my 6 week check they said it was fine. But to me it didnt feel right and there was a weird bit (possibly not stitched right due to swelling) so they got me back in to 'tidy it up'. Once that was done and by the 10 week mark all was fine. So while it might take a few weeks to heal, it might take a few months to feel right to you. And if it doesnt make sure you speak to someone to help resolve the issue x
