Hi
I'm a FTM due in November and starting to pit together a list of things I'll need once baby is here.
I'm just wondering which baby bathing products to use.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated Smile

I just used the child's Farm range tbh.

Expensive but you only use a little so lasts yonks!

Didn't 'bathe' my son till he was 4 weeks old though, just top and tailed him with plain water and wipe downs to begin with.

I really like the oilatum junior head to toe wash. I love the (subtle) smell and it leaves DD's hair and skin in the nicest condition of all the products I've tried.

Others I've tried which were fine as well are: Child's farm, Hipp Organic (this one is very reasonably priced for organic), Gruffalo organic bubbles.

I did like the Aveeno bath for DD's skin but the Aveeno baby cream is brilliant for after the bath if baby has dry skin.

That should have said 'i didN'T like the Aveeno bath'...

A lot of it will depend on personal preference and babies skin so I didn’t buy any big bottles. I just collected various samples and freebies which are from lots of different companies and my plan is to try them and see which one we get on with before purchasing Smile

I used Burts Bees baby initially (after about 6-8 weeks of just water) and use Child's Farm or Good Bubble now they're toddlers. Tried Lidl and the Asda baby range but DD1 is allergic I think so back to the more pricey ones. Sad

Child’s Farm for us. We did just use water for baths to start with for a few weeks though.

The best investment for us was a Skiphop bath which had a mesh sling that you can adjust as your baby grows. It was so much easier than trying to support a baby in a slippery tub with one hand! We got it from Amazon

We just used water to start with. He has a small touch of eczema so that limits what we can use. Dove baby sensitive has been absolutely fine though. Coconut oil is the best moisturiser to keep his skin nice and smooth and soft. It's also nice and cheap.

I've come back to the thread as I've realised I'm pretty sure that I didn't use any products in DD's bath until she was a few months' old.

I think just water is better for newborns.

MichelleOR84 · 28/07/2020 14:54

I’m a fan of child’s farm and Aveeno !!!!

dotdashdashdash · 28/07/2020 15:25

Water until DD was about 8 months old, possibly older.

DS is 4 and has dry skin made worse by any product we use so he is mainly washed in water unless he is really dirty when we use oilatum.

Thank you all some much for your advice, most of you said that you just used water for the first few weeks/months which is helpful.
Also gives me a little more time to look into all your suggestions Smile

Child's Farm is currently discounted on Feel Unique. I'm planning on grabbing a load of stuff after my 20 week scan next week.

Ducky1900 · 28/07/2020 21:25

Defo child's farm.
My sons skin was so dry until I switched to this.
It is expensive but it lasts months and only need a bit at a time.
Johnsons is the worst for baby skin I've read.

Awkwarddough · 28/07/2020 21:27

We’ve always used Dove, it’s a shampoo and body wash. We’ve got a free sample and just carried on with it. It lasts for ages too.

Metanium is the best nappy cream, clears any rash up with one application!
