Hi
I'm 6 weeks pregnant and having very little symptoms (sore nipples and the odd cramps). No nausea or anything else. With my ds1 I was ill straight away and had hyperemesis by week 5/6.

I've taken a digital and got 3+ weeks so feel confident nothing is wrong at this point. Did anyone have very little symptoms with their 2nd after having hyperemesis in a first pregnancy? Were the genders different?

Looking for people's experiences. X

Hi @Helenknowsbest I had severe morning sickness with my 1st, breezed through my 2nd with minor morning sickness. I’m now pregnant with my 3rd and I feel like I’m repeating my 1st pregnancy. O and I also had 2 girls so the whole gender thing and morning sickness is rubbish😂😂 I do have a lot of people now going oh you must be having a twins if you are really sick

@KB13 just goes to show no pregnancy is exactly the same. Im really having meat cravings and keep getting told its a boy but I couldn't stand meat with my first son... must all be coincidence

Didn't have HG first time but was sick every day for weeks and was exhausted pretty much the whole way through. This time bar about 3 weeks when I was a bit tired I've been fine so far. Both girls.

I had horrible morning sickness with DS. I was throwing up until I was 16 weeks pregnant.

I’m now 24 weeks pregnant with baby number 2 and I hardly had any symptoms in my first trimester and absolutely no morning sickness . Even my second trimester symptoms have been different . I don’t know the sex so I can’t comment on that .

Sickness is most likely down to hcg levels which can vary a lot in different pregnancies. You’re usually told them at 12 weeks as it’s part of the combined screening. I had zero symptoms with my first pregnancy and my hcg was freakishly low (0.2 when average is 1) but it’s been horrendous this time. Interestingly hcg still below average (0.8) but it’s obvs 4x higher than the first time which explains the difference in sickness I think! Also more likely to have higher hcg with a girl on average, so there is some truth in the old wives tale, but it varies a lot person to person and pregnancy to pregnancy.

Just thought I would update at 8 weeks pregnant. I'm throwing up all day long and the nausea is worse...
