Low blood pressure

Hi,
Asking for advice and any feedback for anyone who’s experienced the same. It’s starting to get me down.

Am currently 24+5 weeks and since about 14 weeks I’ve had intermittently low blood pressure. It’s not anaemia I got that checked out. I was hoping that once the first trimester fatigue had gone that I would feel more like myself but almost every day I feel weak, occasionally dizzy, can’t concentrate. Several times a week my BP is down to 74/42. It’s never gone below 70/40 thankfully. I woke up today feeling shaky and it’s 80/45. I went in to the office last week for one day and it really took it out of me - had to close office door after lunch and lie down with legs above head felt so faint. If I go out to do a “nice thing” like a country walk or something I have to lie down for hours once I come home.

Obviously no one medical really cares about low BP and there’s nothing they can do anyway. It’s all preventative airy fairy stuff like not getting up too quickly and drinking enough. I raised it at my 16 week appt and will do so next week at my 25 week one, but don’t have much hope for any different advice.

Basically wondering if anyone else has had the same and when it got better? It’s miserable feeling so weak and shaky all the time.

Many thanks.

I've got really low bp and did have all the way through pregnancy x2. The Dr asked how I can stand up and function it was so low! Drink lots was the only advice I ever got and be active as this can increase bp a bit.... sorry not much help. Good luck!

Hi! I had this, from week 12 to week 30/32 I was fainting daily! It was dreadful, I couldn’t drive, go grocery shopping or even out for a meal without fainting!
I was signed off work as I had a physical job on my feet for 8-10 hours a day, it made my pregnancy very long. Thankfully it didn’t affect my baby as DC is thriving now. My GP told me that after the 2nd trimester that it should ease, he was right as by week 30/32 it completely stopped!
My advice is to carry salty food around with you, and I used to drink dioralite to try and balance my electrolytes but it didn’t do much to be honest! I know it seems like a long way away to get to the third trimester but hopefully it will ease earlier for you x

Nothing to share that's useful but I have exactly the same thing. It's started to impact my vision too (lost my eyesight in my right eye last weekend for an evening and now floaters and flashing lights) and loads of other issues.

Massive commiserations! You are spot on - not a medical issue apparently!

I found out at 8 weeks my pressure was on the low side 88/58 but the midwife wasn't to concerned just mentioned oh thats low, but then I thought god thats probably why I've felt so rough its then stayed around 100/60 so not so low now but definitely not my normal 120/70, when I goggled there isn't much you can do for it? And they seems more worried about high blood pressure, Ive just had to learn to go slower and not get up quick, good luck with your pregnancy 😊
