Fragmin injections

Hello,
At my 12 week consultant appointment the consultant told me I'd be induced due to being on fragmin injections. When I had an appointment with the community midwife I asked around what week would I be induced. However, she was baffled and told me that being on those injections is not a reason for induction?? I'm really confused as I'm practically certain that the consultant said that I will be even though the appointment was 13 weeks ago. So I'm not quite sure what to believe now 😂 Anyone else been on fragmin injections and was induced?
TIA!! X

Sometimes labour is induced in order to make sure the fragmin is out of your system. This is to reduce the risks associated with bleeding.
Usually the advice is to not give an injection if signs if labour are present.
There will be a policy at your hospital. Also you can look up the green top guidelines published by the RCOG.

I was injecting with Framing twice daily when pg with DC and the only reason induction was mentioned to me was due to lack of fluid around the baby...nothing to do with the medication. As it was I went in spontaneous labour the day before my due date, so no induction was required.

However, like pp said, if it's still in your system you won't be allowed an epidural or spinal block (which is fine as long as you're aware of that in advance). I was advised to continue with the injection while I was labouring at home for the 1st 18 hours, so I knew the score regarding all things spine related, but it was fineSmile

Good luck!
