Travelling

I am planning on to text my midwife on Monday to discuss this but I couldn't wait so I want to see your opinion on this.

I will be 36+6days when I go to Scotland (if it is ideal) for 2 nights so my question is... Is it okay to travel at 37weeks pregnant? It is 2 hours and a half away and I am at low risk pregnancy.

By car? Train? Plane? I travelled that length from just outside Glasgow then into Glasgow and into Edinburgh (and back same day) at that time by train a few times. It was so tiring but absolutely fine to do. More of my concern would be going into labour while on the trip as when you get to 37 weeks it’s technically full term. Although depending on where you go you might end up with a better hospital!

By car although I won't be driving if that's helps. That's what I am concern about going in the labour in different place 😂 I like to be in my local hospital. We're going Scotland to visit my DP family before the baby comes and I haven't seen them since January...

Of course it's ok to travel. Just take your notes with you just in case. Enjoy your trip. You might want more comfort breaks than usual on the way.

I spent Christmas and New Year 4.5 hrs away and returned home at 39+4 on NYE (because I had an appt at noon). My waters broke at 6am on New Year’s Day. Just be prepared in case 🤷‍♀️

Thank you ladies! This has put my mind at ease. I will bring my notes just in case.

@madwoman1ntheattic you’re very brave!! 😂
