Hello all, I'm 6 weeks pregnant and deeply nervous.

However this is the 1st time in all my pregnancies I'm suffering from nausea. A smell could trigger it, making lunch, after lunch or just randomly gagging. I havent as yet thrown up.

Do you think this is encouraging?

That sounds very encouraging! I think symptoms are a good sign that your hormones are kicking in.
Good luck with your pregnancy. X

Sounds encouraging! I remember when I was pregnant with my son, I'd had 2 miscarriages before him and one day I suddenly felt sick and I was so happy! I believe you're more likely to feel sick when your hormone levels are rising so that's why it's often seen as a good sign.

Just be aware that sickness can come and go. I was in tears on the days when I felt less sick thinking everything had gone wrong. Such an anxious time! Good luck!

I really hope all goes well for you with this pregnancy.

Letmegetthisrightasawoman · 13/07/2020 17:19

Congratulations OP! Have you considered paying for an early test? I was extremely anxious and this did put my mind at ease a bit, as the likelihood of miscarrying is much lower once a heartbeat has been seen.

Letmegetthisrightasawoman · 13/07/2020 17:20

Early scan, not test!

Makino · 13/07/2020 17:55

Oh wow thx you for all the responses!!

I've had all my usual other symtoms like food adversions, breasts full and painful, hungry at all hours!

@Letmegetthisrightasawoman I've had terrible experience with EPU. I've always walked out with bad news and afraid of the place.

Everyday is a blessing! x

@Makino I think there may have been studies that prove its a good thing!!

Good luck

Yes agree, having no nausea isn’t always a bad sign, but having nausea is always a good sign!

Makino · 14/07/2020 12:59

Thx you for the positivity, the days are dragging and everyday is a blessing!

Nausea is definitely a good sign! I complained of how bad my nausea was to my midwife friend recently, expecting some sympathy, and she replied ' glad to hear it.... That's what we want!' Grin. I hope all goes well for you OP. Congratulations!

Areallthenamestaken · 14/07/2020 14:15

You sound the same as me. I had 5 losses and then baby 6 came along and made me so nauseous and sick that I needed anti sickness medicine. The doctors told me it was a good sign and that there were strong hormones. I'm 38 weeks now.

Lucindaa · 14/07/2020 15:09

@Areallthenamestaken oh wow! I've now read in so many places people get excited when they become nausous!

I promise not to ghost this thread so if anyone comes back in the future I will let everyone know about my outcome x

Areallthenamestaken · 14/07/2020 18:07

Haha yep. I was definitely happy when I started being sick and worried if I stopped being nauseous but I was definitely over that excitement by 25 weeks!

hellymum21 · 14/07/2020 18:51

I'm smiling reading this as I'm in a similar situation! Have recently had two miscarriages and didn't ever feel sick or have many symptoms. I am currently 5+4 and last few days have felt really nauseous, mainly afternoons actually and usually when hungry. Haven't been sick either but am just pleased to feel this symptom! Also have mega sore boobs, fatigue and peeing loads plus lots of discharge which I'm praying are all good signs (as didn't really have any of this either time!)
Good luck OP! Xx

JKRisagryff · 14/07/2020 19:58

hellymum they are all great signs!

hellymum21 · 14/07/2020 20:03
