Baby carrying following c section

Is it possible to use a baby wrap/carrier after having a c section. I'm thinking (hoping) there will be a period of recovery and then wearing the baby carriers should be ok?

Yes, I didn't have any issues at all. I used a soft wrap one initially then when my son could hold his head up and was a hot sturdier I moved to more structured one.

I would practice lots with a Teddy bear if you're using a cloth one as it's tricky at first

But obviously just be gentle on yourself if it doesn't feel right

Yes if you feel comfortable and able to. It's different for every woman. Your local sling library may be doing online consultations and could give you some handy tips for comfortable positioning.

Yes, I did! You'll hopefully feel comfortable enough to do that even within a few days.

I carried DD 2 in a stretchy wrap at about 5 weeks after a planned c section. I had an online refresher from our local doing library list, which was really useful.
I didn't use a sling with DD1 until she was much older, but that was due to lack of confidence.

It’s fine. I had Dd in one less than 24 hours post section while still in hospital!

There was a gas leak and we all had to move down the ward. No help from the midwives obviously, they just said we all had to move ourselves Hmm and I couldn’t push the cot. So I put dd in the wrap sling I’d brought in my bag for easier skin to skin in the bed.

Managed fine.

(I had to put her in the sling as I needed two hands to wheel and carry our bags. So much fun right after major surgery Sad).
