Hospital in different area to home

I wondered if there were any midwives or hospital staff who could advise me on the following.

I am currently under the care of a hospital in a different county, as I was still under their care from a previous late miscarriage, and my home address was then listed in that same county. Staying under their care helped my anxiety this time so I never updated my address.

I am due to have a c section soon, and am now worried that I don't live at the address on the system (my parents' address) when it comes to the midwife visiting on days 1,5 and 12.

Do I tell them now, as I don't want my care transferred to a different hospital in my final few weeks, or do I wait and tell them on discharge on the hope they can arrange the care to be swapped then?

Hopefully this isn't too confusing, there was probably a simpler way of asking, that my frazzled baby brain didn't think of.

Hi, sorry for your loss. I was in the same situation but I updated my address when I moved. I was still under their care until I was discharged. They automatically transferred us to our local hospital's care.

Sorry I meant to add I was transferred to our local hospital after birth and being discharged.

I'm having my baby at a hospital in a neighbouring county but my community midwife is in my local area so scans/hospital appts are in one place then midwife appts in another.
It's not an issue to choose a different hospital but your midwife should be in your current, local area as she'll be doing the home visits after the birth.

Thanks both. So I might mention it at my last growth scan next week and see what they suggest. Good to hear others have picked neighbouring hospitals out of area and not had issues, thanks
