Job/money making during pregnancy

Hi all, just wondering about any suggestions for job searching whilst mid/heavily pregnant. I'm really trying to accept the fact this may not happen for me despite employers not being allowed to discriminate, but not being able to be financially dependent is bringing me down. I do get UC however living off 300 every 5 weeks is hardly enough, it barely covers food let alone baby supplies and just general extras for my own sake. I'm tired of being broke. I have done some research but all the internet seems to have to offer are those typical survey sites which I know are a waste of time. I've looked into avon/body shop consultant but I'm aware most of these things are a mlm and scam. I'm not looking for a full fledged job as I said I know its unrealistic, but is there any way just to make abit of pocket money on the side? Cake sales or something like that? Me and my partner have literally sold every assest we have to scrape by and now we have hardly anything left! Any ideas more than welcome

Just want to add I came out of an awful job, then lockdown happened so there was no chance of finding a job, then during lock down I found out I was 3 months pregnant so now i feel rather stuck due to the timing of every circumstance. There must be some way to source an income for women that didnt start of their pregnancy employed

Does your partner work? Selling food isn’t that straightforward. Have you looked at supermarkets, deliveroo etc? Where are you based? Could be worth registering with temp agencies?

Companies cannot discriminate but sadly still they can always find a way of making you not suitable for the job.
Like @peachypetite said try food delivery companies it will give some money but at the same time some flexibility. Some temporary agencies are still asking for people, I work with diferent ones related with hospitality and most of them now are providing other services like work in hospitals, care centers, etc and the pay is really good.
If you or your partner have good skills in restoring/transforming furniture you can always look for free stuff and with a little investment improve it and resell it, or even pick up free stuff and then selling it.

I'm with 30weeks at the moment and furlough so I still have some low income, but the company that I work for doesn't let me take another job. So I done like you, we sold what we could and didn't need, and for the baby we kept it at minimum and bought pretty much everything second hand or in sale. In total until now we spent less than 200pounds and we got: buggie, bedside crib, clothes, nappies, nappie bin, wippes and some maternity clothes (as I'm home I kept it to just 2 pair of trousers and two t-shirts).
As I cannot make much money I looked in how I could save money. I currently use three apps: shoppix (where you have to scan your receipts from any store, it takes some time to get some money but it doesn't cost anything) and shopandscan (just for register you get a 10pound worth voucher in shops like Amazon, Argos, etc and everyweek you can build up points to redeem). Togoodtogo that you can see in your area food that is still good but the shops sell it for really low price as they are aproxing the expiry date, this can be restaurants, bakeries, hotel or even supermarkets.
Keeping record of our expenses, comparing supermarket prices, changing from well known brands to supermarket brands (i have to say that for some things is really hard), cooking from scratch (there are really good and cheap recepies), browse for freebies/samples/offers (the latest deals is a good website to look at), let the freezer be your best friend and avoid food waste.

Someone i work with does an avon type company called Monat. She's always saying I should get involved, she loves it and makes money from it but that's based on what she's telling me- I've never looked into it myself but could be worth looking at

You could join your local community Facebook groups and see if they have any cash in hand odd jobs going, sometimes they’re are small businesses like delis and green grocers just looking for an extra pair of hands for the day. Depending how you are feeling in pregnancy you could also do some fruit picking. You could potentially do pet sitting, I have a lovely local lady which I found on the FB community group who comes in to feed our cat when we’re away. We pay £12 a day for two half hour visits, it soon adds up now people are going away again and need their cat, dog, rabbit, budgie fed 🙂 You could also buy a good quality iron and offer ironing services (again it really adds up if you charge £2 a shirt!). Also I second the Deliveroo, Uber eats, Hermes parcel delivery option, it’s all sign up and start on the same day with no commitment or money in. If your partner isn’t working and drives then think of Uber as it’s pretty good money and you can withdraw payment weekly (I say partner as I wouldn’t recommend mixing pregnancy and strangers in a car.. never know what weirdos are out there!) hope this helps give you some inspo x

Also should add I really wouldn’t waste your time with the whole Avon, FM Perfumes, weight loss coffee social media things.. all seems more aggravation than it’s worth. Earn more and quicker just delivering someone’s take away and even better can just leave it on their doorstep now and have no contact 🙂

What's your skill set? What's your previous job type? What experience have you had previously?
If anything seems to be an mlm type company, then it most definitely is. Avoid.
What about baby sitting? Animal
sitting? Ironing?
