Due my first in a few weeks. What’s one thing you wish you did before your first little one arrived earthside? I’m unable to rest too much and need to be on my feet due to SPD so I’m doing random things such as cleaning my makeup brushes, random things!

Thanks 🙏🏻

Pelvic floor exercises.
Batch cooking.
Get really good at opening and closing pram/buggy with one hand.
Don't think you have to allow everyone to visit. Allow yourself some peace and quiet.
When you have visitors only have the ones that arrive with food and make you a cup of tea. The ones who expect you to make them a cup of tea can wait a lot longer before you invite them.

Finished spring cleaning the house
Cut the grass and tidy up garden

Learn how to fold up the pram - otherwise you might find yourself in the car park of a shopping centre heading home trying to wrestle it into the car because you don't know how to fold it 😳.

We had lovely friends send us a Cook bundle. I'd batch cooked but this was a god send.

I wish I'd done more research about how to actually breastfeed/latch. I'd been to nct classes but I'd forgotten what had been said by the time labour came. Next time I will definitely make time to go to the breastfeeding support whilst still in hospital. Much easier to get help very early on when you're still there.

Totally agree with - napping, eating out with two hands, cinema trips, evening strolls, hair cut

Not had loads of work done to the house - I was completely exhausted and having to be up to deal with tradesmen every day was so stressful.

I did manage a few cinema trips and nice coffee/lunches out which was lovely. One of the best things I did was to do a household essentials shop so things like bin bags, foil, food bags, washing powder - things that run out really easily without you noticing, and making sure we had things like a loaf of bread in the freezer at all times.

I wish I’d taken time to enjoy being alone, now I have my DD, i realise that it may be many years until I can enjoy sitting alone and reading a book whenever I want.

Also have a bath that lasts an hour.
