Movement change 36 weeks

Hi ladies

Iv been in 4 times already for reduced movement.

For the last 4 days or so my baby's been quieter than usual in the mornings but fine in the afternoons/evening. Whereas she was normally more active in the mornings especially after breakfast.
Is a pattern change normal at this stage?

Get yourself seen. It doesn't matter how many times you've been, this time might be the one that matters

teacuptale · 05/07/2020 09:27

Go on and get checked out. Perfectly possibly everything is fine, but no one here can tell you that for sure.

I went in to be checked at full term due to reduced movement. Turns out movement was reduced due to meconium. Had I not gone in, things could have ended very differently.

Go in, you’ll only be sat at home worrying otherwise.

When o was around 34 weeks I noticed my baby's movements changed. She was more active at night then in the morning, where as before it was when I first woke.
Patterns can change but like the others have said def go back in just to put your mind at ease

clo1992 · 05/07/2020 09:40

Going in about 11 so hopefully all will be ok. I honestly don't understand this baby 🙈

Either sleepy or really active 🤷🏼‍♀️

I'm 34+3 and every time I think we have a pattern, baby changes it....it's so stressful.
I've also found that the movements have changed to rolls/waves now rather than kicks (probably because she has a lot less space these days) so it's more subtle these days. They certainly like to keep us on our toes.

clo1992 · 05/07/2020 10:19

My family are forever telling me I worry to much and back in the day you never had to worry about movements and they actually make me feel like crap :(

Any kind of unusual movement should be checked out, don't let anyone think you're being silly.
When I was pregnant with DD, she wasn't a big kicker at all. Then at 36+1 she suddenly went into overdrive, and it was so bizarre. I got checked out, all was fine. However the next day my waters broke, and I had her at 36+4. Always better safe than sorry op!

frasersmummy · 05/07/2020 11:18

@clo1992
Please don't listen to the people saying movements don't mater
Thats really bad advice.

Go get baby checked out.. Ask of they can do a scan.. Good luck

@clo1992

My family are forever telling me I worry to much and back in the day you never had to worry about movements and they actually make me feel like crap :(
"Back in the day" there were a lot more bad outcomes precisely because there wasn't as much known about movements. Ignore this awful advice.
clo1992 · 05/07/2020 13:02

Iv just got back.
Slightly worrying trace. Very high heartbeat to start and minimal movements.
Eventually heartbeat did settle and monitor was happy.
Still minimal movements so have got to monitor and call hospital if I'm not happy.
Don't feel as reassured as i would like to be :( x

You did the right thing getting checked @clo1992 you have to trust your gut and, if you're not happy, then always get some proper advice.
I'm sure it's absolutely fine or they wouldn't have sent you home but make sure you follow their advice about monitoring and going back in if you're worried x

FizzingWhizzbee123 · 06/07/2020 17:02

You were completely right to get checked and ignore anyone who tells you otherwise! Go in as many times as you need to. I hope baby is more wriggly today.

Needingsupportplease · 06/07/2020 17:15

Please go back and tell them your instincts are telling you something is wrong. I hate that because a machine says the right number its 'ok' I went in about 10 times and was induced which took 5 days after I nagged and nagged... my baby was born with sepsis. I'm sure your baby is fine but please trust your gut xx

clo1992 · 06/07/2020 21:04

I went back in this morning. Trace was more reassuring.
I think I have to accept she's had a pattern change in the mornings. She's very active in afternoon/eve still.
I also had a scan and all was well. I think I get on there nerves as I'm forever worried. And I will demand anything for this baby to be safe and well.
She's very engaged to I don't no if that's also maybe making a difference in types of movements.

Needingsupportplease · 07/07/2020 14:47

Glad to hear all is ok, keep going in if you need to though! I had dappled scans and everything which were all fine so didn't mean anything to me or baby I just had a feeling something wasn't right, really not trying to be a negative nancy or worry you but always trust your gut. Hope the rest of your pregnancy goes well x

clo1992 · 07/07/2020 15:28

@Needingsupportplease that sounds scary.
How did your movements become different? Were they really reduced?
I have a feeling they will induce me at 38 weeks due to all my movement worry's.

OP posts:
Needingsupportplease · 07/07/2020 15:50

She was still active just no where near as much and had bouts of movement then long periods of nothing, something just didn't feel right to me even though hospital staff told me she was fine, I pushed for induction which started Monday and ended Friday at midnight with emcs. I was lucky to get her out and treated or they'd of left me (I was 40+4) she never had a pattern so it was really difficult and confusing but I just had a niggling feeling x

clo1992 · 07/07/2020 15:57

Bless you!
My baby generally has what a call sessions. Lots of movements over 15 mins to 1 hour plus she's really active. But it seems to be movements here and there at the moment. But she does still continue with the sessions at certain points of the day. Im really keeping my eye on them.
I will demand to be seen again if they really reduce.
My midwife I'm pretty sure will sort out for me to be induced at 38 weeks if I'm still not happy. She's very understanding and nice. X
