Painful & Strong Braxton Hicks

Hey ladies 🤗
I'm 34+3 at risk of preterm due to previous baby coming at 36. Also have large growth charted consistently during this pregnancy, which coincides with previous pregnancy as DS was 7lbs at only week 36.

As for this.
I have had Braxton Hicks since about week 31, PGP since about week 28 and as such have grown used to them, manage them appropriately and at this point it's become sort of background pain and easy to drown out.
From yesterday 3/7 the Braxton Hicks have become extremely intense. It's more than uncomfortable it's painful and the pain is causing a period like cramp in my back as the tightening sensation reaches it's peak. It has been so bad I can't stand upright and am supporting my bump when I attempt to walk. Position changes make no difference, but inactivity helps it to subside.
I have been monitored and examined, cervix is closed. Despite contractions clearly registering on CTG on duty midwife was happy with closed cervix and sent me home.
My question for you ladies is, have you experienced this or something similar? Do you think this is an indicator that labour may be around the corner as was with my son?
This all feels eerily similar to me. But I am under a different health board now and their procedures are extremely different to my previous experience. When I was being monitored with my son, I was being kept in for hours or overnight. This is not the case here and I don't really feel reassured.
Of course cervix is closed and that's satisfactory for tonight. But the anxiety and feeling that something will happen very soon is difficult to shake.
Any input is appreciated.
Thanks everyone xx

cervix is closed. However painful you are safe. yes things are moving slowly. you can stay for quite a while at 1 to 2 cm, then slowly opening, you won't start cracking and talking business until you pass the 5 cm mark. You will safely get though today.

I had very strong BH with my 4th child. I was certain it was labour and it happened for weeks. It would happen, be intense and I would be ready to call Dr after a few hours but it would then stop.
It was honestly painful and on my 4th child it felt very real. In the end my baby was induced at 42 weeks because labour wouldn't start on its own.

I used to bounce on a yoga ball to ease the pain and then fall asleep and the pain always went away while I slept.
