I am looking for a next to me style crib and there is so much choice! Babylo, Chicco and Snuzpod to name a few! All very similar features, all varying price tags. I've never used one of these before so would appreciate any recommendations/real life experience pros & cons x

I had the chicco next 2 me and that was the only one I really looked at so can’t comment on the others. For me I loved the fact that you could adjust the height on the cot very easily so it was perfect for us to move between bedroom and living room for use during the day(both were on the same floor of the house). The cot can also adjust height at one end so great for babies with reflux etc. The cot was also a really good size I found compared to what I saw of the others. DS stayed in his comfortably until around 6/7 months when he moved to his own room. We also fitted an apnoea alarm under the mattress and this fitted in fine.
Overall we were really happy with ours but as it is on the larger side depends on space I would say.

Minkies13 · 04/07/2020 08:58

We used the next to me and I'll be using it again for next baby due in November. It was great. So easy to get baby in and out of when in bed.

My friends bought the snuzpod. It is definitely more aesthetically pleasing but I think they both do similar things.

happygolucky6 · 04/07/2020 09:35

I've got the next to me (but no baby yet, hopefully soon she will arrive!!)

I've been really impressed with how it fits to the bed, it seems like it'll be a massive help when she's here. It's neat and tidy and works really well.

The only thing I will say is- don't put it up to early. I have to scoot the bloody thing around my room to get to various places etc because it's not yet attached to the bed and it's so annoying 😂😂😂

EBM20 · 04/07/2020 09:39

FTM and spent lots of time looking into all the different brand next to me cots. The tutti banbini is the one I will be getting and suits all my prefences/needs. Do lots of research and have a list of what is important for the cot to have

Bluebelltulip · 04/07/2020 09:42

I've been using the babylo for 6 months and it's been great glad I didn't spend as much as some of the others.

CupcakeParadise · 04/07/2020 09:48

I have a next2me, FTM so not used yet, I read a lot of the reviews on both babylo and chicco and the next2me was the better rated overall I found, though both highly recommended by lots. The only thing people tended to comment negatively on was that the babylo mattress was quite thin/hard. The way I look at it is they're both quite popular so both can't be that bad, I guess its just what your budget allows

Also, the next2me is currently on offer in 'the middle of lidl', they had a few left in the one near me yesterday

New2020 · 04/07/2020 17:01

There's so much choice! I remember looking for ages trying to decide.

I ended up going for the snuzpod in the end..baby has a long way to go so not tried it yet..

But it's very similar to the next to me.

I think the next to me is slightly bigger but we have a cot bed hand me down we are planning to move onto. I liked that you could take the top of the snuzpod off and I could use it downstairs if needed rather than getting anything separate

Gin4thewin · 04/07/2020 17:06

I got mine from lidl for 89.99 and its been great, shes 7m and still in it (DD was prem so is still quite little) it came with a bag too so ee used it on holiday rather than a travel cot

Babyshine2020 · 04/07/2020 19:00

We have the Tutti Bambini CoZee AIR Bedside Crib - I've literally just put this up (hence the wires in the bed!) but I'm impressed.

The cot can be set to 6 height levels so it can be level with your mattress, and can also be tethered to your bed for safety. It comes with rocking feet (I've kept the normal ones on) and had a handy shelf under it. And the side comes all the way down / I noticed in the shops not all of them did that!

Baby isn't due for a few weeks but I just wanted it up - took literally 5 minutes.

turtletum · 04/07/2020 19:28

I have the tutti bambini. I like that it folds away flat in seconds, so easy to take on holiday, etc. It's a decent size, sturdy, height and tilt adjustable. I liked the look of it more than the next to me. I have been using it for a few months and it'll easily last a few more until baby is ready to go into her own room. I didn't use a bedside crib for my first baby, but have found it very helpful this time around.

liquoricecravings · 04/07/2020 20:49

We also have the CoZee Air from Tutti Bambini. The baby isn't due for a couple of months still but we've put it up in our bedroom as I got excited when it arrived. We love how it looks, it's super easy to set up and it comes with a handy travel bag.

WeDontTalkAboutLove · 04/07/2020 20:54

The snuzpod is nicer looking but we ended up with with the Chicco Next2me as it was a bit bigger and would last a little longer. It was definitely a good choice; we and DD loved it.

BlueLadybird · 04/07/2020 21:25

I have a SnuzPod but don’t think it’s worth the extra. The fact you can take the top off isn’t a selling point because it’s so heavy you just won’t

Wineandrun · 04/07/2020 22:10

I had the next2me with my second and honestly my baby hated it. But then, he hated anywhere that wasn’t on my chest. I found it way easier just to co sleep. My first child was in a Moses basket then a cot and she was fine in both.

Gustavo1 · 04/07/2020 22:14

I have a maxi Cosi version.
It’s brilliant, looks good and has a storage basket under which is handy. It’s a really good size too; Baby is almost 8 months and can still sleep in it very comfortably if needed. The height adjusts independently at each end which is handy for wind etc.
It’s easy to put up and down so can be used as a travel cot too.
It isn’t one I had heard of until I saw a great offer on it but it’s lovely. A bit more rounded than many so doesn’t look like hospital crib.

farmertom · 04/07/2020 22:42

We've used the Chicco with both and it's great. Haven't had any issues at all.

MaverickDanger · 04/07/2020 22:44

We’ve been recommended the Next to me.

We have absolutely tons on our local FB selling sites for 50-60 quid, so will get one of those and order a new mattress.

Chl00 · 04/07/2020 22:51

I’ve just purchased the maxi Cosi Iora bedside crib, I’ve set it up and all seems great and I love the appearance too! Haven’t put it to use yet because I’m only 23 weeks but I love it so far

Hey does the maxi cosi Iora able to tilt on one side for reflux babies? I can't seem to see it listed in its features on any website I go on
Chl00 · 07/07/2020 21:46

@SassyPants87 not that I know of, but I’ve never even heard of that sorry x

Chl00 · 07/07/2020 21:49

@SassyPants87 I’ve been given the impression that all babies should sleep on their back until they are able to move around themselves, I don’t think this position increases risk of choking at all from what I’ve read x

MrsH497 · 07/07/2020 22:01

We've got the snuzpod and love it. Our room isn't the biggest so preferred a slimmer style. Also the reflux stand has been invaluable with our little girl as she has reflux. She seems to like it!

@Chl00 it's stopping the acid coming up from babies stomach and burning with reflux stands and tilting the head end of cribs just keeping them a little more raised helps. It's not stopping them choking. They still sleep on their backs just can help with reflux Smile

Sunsage · 07/07/2020 22:04

They are all honestly so so similar. For this reason I went with the one I liked the look of better and that's the snuzpod (plus got it on offer from John Lewis a few weeks ago!)

Chl00 · 07/07/2020 22:05

@MrsH497 okay thank you I’ve never heard of babies sleeping like that before so wasn’t sure, maybe I could do with a bed like that because my heart burn has been terrible 😂 x

MrsH497 · 07/07/2020 22:14

@Chl00 oh I sympathise my heartburn was horrific towards the end. I basically slept sitting up.

Honestly if I hadn't read about the reflux stands etc I wouldn't have a clue. Didn't think we would use it and typically baby ended up having reflux 🙄 poor little thing but it does really seem to help.
