Hi guys
Has anyone got any tips for easing pelvic girdle pain? It's becoming unbearable! I'm 33w and struggling to see how I'll get through the rest with this much pain

Physio or osteopath - ask your midwife if they know anyone good.

Hello! Just thought I'd hop on cos I'm also struggling 23+1 and this last week its become unbearable, some days I cry with the pain- my gp are referring me for physio but I also got a birthing ball and have been doing some exercising I found online on an NHS website
And my miwdife suggested a pelvic girdle support belt and thats really helping
Also alternating between heat and cold
All these things seem to help but still have bad bad days like yesterday but much better today!
Also try sleeping with a pillow between your knees/ ankles
Not sure if you've tried any of this?
Also open to any other advice cos it is truly awful :(

Oh god it's just awful isn't it! Today is definitely the worst that it's been so far for me, I've just ordered a support belt in hope that it helps. I wish I could give you advice in return my lovely but I'm honestly in the same boat, i don't think people understand just how bad it can get. It's so much more than being a bit uncomfortable. Sending you lots of support & strength

Hello,i suffer badly from this,I'm due next week so hoping it disappears asap.
I've found doing exercises on exercises ball helps, pillow between knees in bed.Keeping your legs together when going from sitting to standing.Support belt is great relief too as takes the weight of bump of the pelvis(only recommended to wear a couple hours a day though). Also so you're not balancing on one leg sit down when dressing bottom half.

Definitely see an osteopath if you can. I could hardly walk towards the end of my pregnancy, and after just three sessions I was fine.

I’ve tried gp, physio, osteopath, and chiropractor, only thing that helps is doing absolutely nothing! No bending, no lifting, no long walks, no hoovering, sweeping, mopping etc luckily I have a great partner that’s doing everything for me and being at home in lockdown helps to just sit and do nothing, but it’s so boring and frustrating. I did get a support belt which helps, and after 1st baby I saw an osteopath which eased it a bit but didn’t last. Try and do as least as possible but change position often, sitting / standing / walking / lying. Good luck x

Bbghugme pillow is keeping mine at bay in this 3rd pregnancy. I’m nearly 20 weeks. I can feel it’s there on the front of my public bone but the pillow really helps with sleeping in the right position that it’s not got any worse so far. That and making sure to keep legs and knees together when getting in our bed/car etc. And no open legged yoga moves. I also got a mattress topper to support hips when sleeping on side as I sleep on stomach normally. All helping so far in this 3rd pregnancy after a brutal time in my second with PGP.

My GP diagnosed me with PGP and referred me to see the physio, in my area NHS physio are only doing telephone sessions (useless!) so I went private to see an osteopath. Had four sessions so far and it is helping aswell. She actually said my hip is unaligned and I have a very inflamed round ligament so I have certain exercises and a cold compress a few times a day. Also a support belt is a god send! Only wear it when you are walking around though 😊
