Sickness & nausea 24/7

Hi everyone!

I am 7+4, and my nausea is horrific - all day, every single day, with sprints to the bowl just for the heave with nothing or bile.

Three solid weeks of this, from the moment I wake to going to sleep.

There's nothing specific that sets it off, comes in motion waves, but constant. No food or drink helps more or less, tried sleeping it off, lots of water, peppermint tea. Nothing.

Anyone else truly suffering and got any home remedies or tips that have worked?

Would love to hear a new mum who is further along and gotten over this?!

Susie x

You can go to your GP and get prescribed medication for nausea. It doesn’t matter that you’re not being sick, get on the phone. You can’t live like that. I hope you get something that helps x

Think I'm keen to try any home remedies being suggested too, not sure I'm keen on prescriptions.

Sure! Hope you feel better soon.

Me. Only thing that has ever helped is anti sickness pills prescribed by the dr! I'm pregnant with my 5th baby and it's been the same every time it's miserable.

@misssoaps thank you!
How many weeks were you taking it for?

Never found a good home remedy. I think they just pass the time, and lots of people try lots of different things and then it gets better on its own! Most people (lucky buggers) are better by second trimester.

Eating little and often, and easily digestible things, means you are less likely to throw up (or at least reduce how much) when you throw up, so you are less likely to get dehydrated. Many people say the nausea is worse when they are hungry, so leaving a snack by the bed so you can have something before you get up can help a bit. I find fresh air makes it a bit better - certain smells trigger vomiting (meat, especially cat food, tea or coffee), so try to work out if anything in particular makes you feel worse and avoid that.

If nothing works, call your GP. I just about managed with my first pregnancy, but have been out on cyclizine this time as I’d lost a bit too much weight and was getting dehydrated in the heat weather.

I didn't find anything to help so sorry I can't recommend anything, time does help but actually Im still suffering from sickness now, seems to be sick after I eat dinner, maybe I'm now eating to much who knows, good luck on your search

I find looking at screens, especially my mobile, makes it a lot worse so am limiting my phone screen time. It’s awful isn’t it!

Never found a good remedy I'm afraid, but sickness did go at 16 weeks.

Hello love,

It's miserable isn't it?
Do you want to join us on the hyperemesis support thread ? Not sure how to link to it but someone else might come along and do so for you.
There's lots of advice etc and we can all moan about it together.
Have a look at the pregnancy sickness support website too.
Sending love xx

(plus no detail is too much - my current fave is peeing and being sick at the same time with my three year old watching intently and going ' oh look at that - yuck!)

I'm currently almost 20 weeks and finally feel well again. From 5 weeks my symptoms sounded like yours, I lived between the bathroom floor and bed, and with a toddler it was even more horrendous. In the end I was put on a mixture of three medications that finally worked, but it took weeks to find the right mixture. I stopped taking them at about 16 weeks. You really do have my sympathy, it's truly awful and I hope it passes quickly for you.
