At my 28 w appt I measured 32 w the doctor booked a scan for 36 w

Now at 32 w I measure 40 w .... the scan date has t been changed and now I’m wondering if I should insist ? I feel uncomfy and bump feels tight as well

Hmm it’s tricky but normally 36 weeks is fine as it would only be to make a plan for delivery if the baby is indeed large for gestational age. If you’ve been screened for gestational diabetes and that was negative then even if the baby is big, as long as you’re not diabetic then at 32 weeks your plan of care won’t change so waiting until later is better🙂

That does sound unusual. Have you had testing for gestational diabetes?
Do you have a high BMI usually? A fundal height measurement can be really tricky and inaccurate on bigger ladies.

For growth scans to be accurate they need to do 3, each 2 weeks apart.

I measured big the whole time and had an average size baby. I had a growth scan at 39w which estimated her at over 2lbs bigger than she was! Apparently the later they do growth scans the more inaccurate they are. I think it’s normal to be uncomfortable at your stage x

Hi OP, I’ve been measuring 3-4 weeks ahead since 28 weeks too (and have a normal BMI)

I’m now 36 weeks and had a large for dates scan last week - baby is only slightly above average according to scan, so very reassuring! I’m just carrying the bump high, so it’s given an inaccurate fundal height

My midwives kept telling me my bump measured 4-6 weeks ahead of my dates. At my last appt I was told I was measuring "46 weeks".

Baby was 8lbs 12, took 4 days following an induction and my lady parts are now complete buggered. He wasn't ready to be born and it's messed up my health for a long time.

Ignore the bump measurements, even the scans had him at 8lbs 4 weeks before he was born. It's mainly a wild stab in the dark to gauge their real measurements.
