Hi guys, looking for more advise whilst preparing for my LO's arrival in November.
I've been researching the best bouncers and there's so much option I'm completely stuck!
Could anyone recommend ones they've used/bought? Also, is it important to have a vibration option or swing option or just normal bouncer!
Really appreciate any advice!

@rara88cas I'm due november too 😊 I've just gone for a normal bouncer, I want to cuddle lots and only really put them in that for a rest or if I need to get something done. You can get really elaborate ones though... it's so hard when theres so much choice!

@biscuit13 what date are you due? we're due 23rd - found out the first couple of days of lockdown haha!
Will you be finding out whether it's pink or blue or leaving it as a surprise?
I'm completely lost with bouncers! I feel I will use them alot as I know from friends what a god-send they are but I'm lost! haha!

We had a swing which was a lifesaver- she hated the bouncer however! Get one that plugs into the wall though as it will eat batteries like no tomorrow. I got one that swings front to back as the side to side ones make me feel sick just looking at them.

The bouncer was used probably twice but some babies love them! She’s not a baby that’s ever liked being cuddled or held a great deal so the swing was used every single day. Good luck x

We got a baby bjorn bouncer. It has 3 settings to lay back and also folds flat so we can hide it under the sofa for a quick clear up. Fully washable covers. They also hold their value well so will probably sell on afterwards.

@Teacaketotty I guess it's hard to know until baby gets here! Baby may not like the bouncer and I'll wonder why I researched it so much!

@whatwouldpennydo I've seen those but not heard many reviews - thats great to know thank you!

@rara88cas I'm due 4th, so I'm 22 weeks tomorrow.
Aw it's such a shame about this lock down! I assume your partner hasn't been to any scans either?
And we are leaving it as a surprise 😁 but I am so excited! Have you/are you finding out?
Yeah I read another post i think where someone had bought a decent bouncer and then their baby hated it 🤷🏻‍♀️ tbh I never considered one of the high tech swinging ones, I thought between a bouncer, play mat and me cuddling, it should (hopefully) be enough.

I had this bouncer as it lay flat as well as sitting, it broke within 2 weeks. Got a replacement and that broke too, the button to adjust the settings is just not strong enough. So don't get this one.

My personal experience was a basic one was great. I knew of friends who'd spent loads on rocking/ vibrating ones which they didn't use much and took up loads of space.
When I had twins ones which I could rock with my foot were great so I could rock both and drink a cup of tea.
Unfortunately all mine rolled at around 12 weeks which meant I couldn't use them as much as I'd have liked.
Wipe clean is best.
If you can get one that folds away easily then you can store behind sofa/under cot.
Neutral colours then you can use for any other babies you have or easier to sell or pass on.

The baby bjorn bouncer is the best, gutting as it's massively expensive. If you can find a proper old school 80s one, those were exactly the same but about £2 from second hand sales Hmm The modern ones aren't shaped the same and the baby can't bounce it with their legs. A lot of them are also too upright.

SquigglyOne · 30/06/2020 11:33

I wouldn’t spend too much on a bouncer - they’re great as somewhere to put baby while you get things done by as soon as DS started attempting to sit up he hated being in there - would scream and scream until I got him out

Thanks everyone! Think I've found a friend who has a basic one I can lend, then if baby loves it I'll invest in a posh one!
