Movements getting softer

Morning, I'm 27 weeks today and I feel like my movements have gone back to flutterings as appose to kicks. I've called the mid wife and I've got an appointment at 9 but I've gotten myself a bit upset and worked up so didn't know if anyone else has had this before

You're doing the right thing being checked over and monitored. Baby may have moved or just be taking it easy but definitely best to get it checked out. Hope everything goes well for you.

Always right to get checked out if they have changed, but in my experience movements felt quite different at different stages just based on how baby was positioned. Try not to worry - good luck!

Absolutely doing the right thing getting you and baby checked.
As the pp's have said, baby has most likely turned around so the kicks have become softer.
Fingers crossed all is well. Try not to panic too much. It's a good thing you can still feel baby moving! 😁let us know how you get on x

I had reduced movements 19 times and it was almost always because DS had gotten himself all curled up and a bit stuck. Always remember but a midwife would rather see you a 100 times than have something bad happen. The only time it wasn't fine for me was when I was in labour, and now I have a healthy 18 month old DS who was born rather abruptly. I hope it's all okay! Thanks

Around this time I often had softer days of movements. Baby is still very small and will have lots of space to move around to places where you can’t feel as well. You are going to get checked, which is completely the right thing to do. Always best to check but if your baby is anything like mine they will start kicking up a storm as soon as the midwife enters the room!!!

Please don't worry hun, you are right to get checked but as previous posters have said, they have probably just changed position or are lying a little funny. I'm 35 weeks now and have had an array of movements throughout from little flutters to full on kicks, waves, hiccups. Times of massive activity and then very little. Each baby is different and some times, just like us they have some down time. Glad you've managed to get an appointment soon to put your mind at ease :) x

Thank you all so much for your messages. Just left the hospital baby was fine, started kicking when they were strapped up! She said it had probably just moved position but to get in contact if I get worried again and to make sure I eat regularly for energy! Had to stay a bit longer as where i was a bit worked up my blood pressure went up! Xx

Hi OP, pleased everything was OK.
I got told that weeks 24-28 are really common for women getting monitored for reduced movements as the babies are still tiny so can move around easily and there's no established pattern yet.
The slightest change in position can make a big difference to how much we can feel.
I'm 33+3 now and still have quiet periods with softer movements.

Awwww good stuff OP! Glad everything is ok with your lil bundle 🥰

Glad that everything was ok! Always best to get checked if you notice a change.
