Scared to return to St Thomas EPU - options?

Hi, I'm sorry for the obvious throwaway. I'm in London, history of MC, pregnant again (4+5) and I will be designated high risk for another early delivery if we get out of the first trimester.

I won't bore anyone with the details unless asked but in 2 of my MCs, I received appalling and negligent care from St Thomas's EPU. Part of this directly led to the late loss of my baby at 22 weeks. I don't want to submit a complaint, because I need access to the Prem clinic for specialist care past 16 weeks. I do however want to never go back there if I need EPU services (which is sadly quite likely). My midwife at the time told me I was inventing my concerns and told me to practice "mindfulness" - no one believes me when I tell them how bad they were.

Do I have any options here? I still have nightmares about the place. If I eg went to another London EPU, would that lose me my Prem referral? Does anyone know if other London EPUs are just as bad? Should I just go private and is there anyone that is recommended for 1st trimester care?

I'm sorry for your losses.

I've been to UCLH EPU on many occasions (sadly two MC's) and they were always kind. Waiting times (but this was before Covid) were long for the walk in but I am sure that system is currently working differently anyway.

I'd try them. They've also got a level 3 NICU I believe?

Thank you, wow that was quick.

I've been told in the past that if I went anywhere else, my referral to the premature clinic at St Thomas's would be automatically cancelled which would be even worse than going back to their EPU...I'm so very frightened right now.

Kings EPU were very sympathetic to me due to earlier losses and a lot of bleeding in my last pregnancy.

I'm not sure where you're based but Kings is easily accessed by train or overground.

I actually had to go to UCH due to a very heavy bleed which started when I was at Euston station so UCH was closest. They were very thorough and I was kept in overnight but as soon as they realised I was booked in at Kings they discharged me.

Why do you think you would lose your referral to the premium clinic at st Thomas'? Im sure thats not correct. Are you under Mr Shennan?
