Sickness

Hi all,

Currently found out 2 weeks ago I'm pregnant. Roughly around 6-7 weeks.
Over this last week, my nausea is just unreal. I can barely stomach anything and it's been like this for days.
I'm not actually being sick but the feeling is just awful.
I'm usually quite a good / big eater and I feel hungry but then when I think about food or take a look... my insides say otherwise!

So frustrating, draining and making me slightly anxious!

Can anybody advise?
X

You have my empathy OP - worst four months of my life. Make sure you stay hydrated, and sleep as much as possible. Tiredness for me made the sickness so much worse. Good luck.

Firstly, congratulations on your pregnancy.

I found that tinned fruit and juice helped, as well as ice lollies, yoghurts and plain crackers helped with easing into eating other things, if that make sense. Eating little and regularly helped keep it at bay. Oh and fizzy water helps for some reason.

It’s easing now that I’m a bit further along, hang in there and get plenty of rest if you can.

I am exactly the same! Constant nausea but never sick. It's soooo horrible. I spoke to the GP and they prescribed me some anti sickness tablets which have definitely helped (but not completely) so might be worth trying that.

Agree with previous posters ice lollies and sleep are a saviour!

It's ever so frustrating :-(. I'm only a couple of weeks in and already feel this way, genuinely hope it slightly starts to pass sooner rather than later.

I completely agree with you about the tiredness but then I'm having so many restless nights or sleepless nights completely due to the nausea :-(.

Thank you for your advice x

Thank you so much for the congratulations.

I only found out shy of 2 weeks ago and sometimes I personally believe a lot of it can be psychological. Before finding out everything's more or less lovely, find out and all these symptoms appear.

Since finding out the most / biggest meal I've tolerated was a jacket potatoe with salad. However, after a few mouth fulls... it was dying to come back up!

I'll try some of your recommendations and really appreciate you posting back to me.

I slightly feel like I'm in a lost bubble and feel so fed up :-(. Sometimes makes you wonder how people continue xx

On an occasion before, many years ago. I had 3 different types of anti sickness prescribed and I don't recall on any of them helping me :-(. I feel like it might be worth me trying as I feel like I've got such a long way to go and this isn't going to ease any time soon. Xx

@xElisha if you’re really struggling maybe see if the GP can help?

Travel sickness bands also helped me (even if just psychologically).

Hope you’re feeling a bit better soon Smile
