Moses basket for single floor flat?

I live in a 2 bed flat across one floor. Bubs will have a crib in our bedroom, but as we're ground level and overlooked we leave the blinds down all day. I wouldn't feel good leaving her in the dark all day while I potter and the flat is big enough I feel I should move her between rooms with me.

Do I need a Moses basket for this or will a bouncer suffice? We get the free Scottish
baby box but I don't like the idea of a box as I don't get how they can see out much? Plus it will get damp in bathroom/kitchen?

Would a bouncer be ok or do I need a Moses basket?

Hi

I wouldn't bother with a Moses basket as you're on the same level. What about a travel cot? And as they get older it can double up as a play pen whilst you pee/shower whatever.

You could get a bouncer too though. You can get all different types so have a look about. Ideally one that will suit for longer than a few months old

Congratulations by the way x

I had two Moses baskets and used the pram top, basinette bit, in the kitchen - I used to just pop it on a worktop. When baby gets a bit bigger a bouncer would be ideal. I had one in each room! Then play mat on the floor.

Hi OP I personally didn’t use a Moses basket for very long and found the bouncy chair much more useful . When they are newborn they should be flat at much as possible but I think Fisher Price do something that is a lie flat then sits up too. Just an idea.

I had a crib on wheels that I just moved around the flat, if was perfect. A lot of people said to just use the pram, which I did sometimes, but preferred the separate option.

Will you have a pram with a carrycot? That's what I used during the day for mine to nap in when they were very small. Use plastic shower caps over the wheels to keep the floor clean indoors.

My baby was too big for a moses basket. I had a travel cot in the living room - I certainly didn't take it around with me! When baby is asleep I got on and did stuff.
As for your windows - shame for you to be in darkness with artificial light. Have you looked into getting opaque film for the bottom half (or all) of the windows? You just stick it on with soapy water so easy to remove.

We live in a flat and didn't buy a Moses basket originally - we had a crib in the bedroom and a bouncer in the sitting room plus planned to use the bassinet from the prime. I ended up getting one on Amazon Prime on about Day 3 and it was a lifesaver. Baby didn't like the bouncer for the first few weeks, the bassinet was getting bashed about and he wouldn't sleep in his crib. We used the Moses basket every day for about 6 months; for the first few weeks, it was the only place he would sleep.

@AnimalCrossingHere Not sure if you already have the crib for your room or what your budget is but the Snuzpod bedside crib has a completely removable top which you can move to the livingroom etc during the day then put it back on it’s stand in your bedroom at night 😊

I used the baby box for a while with mine but it's huge so not good to move around. If you have a large space for it in your lounge, it's grand for day sleeping. They can't see much anyway at that age. Bouncers are great as you can move it around easily but not great for sleep. But if the baby is asleep, I wouldn't be moving her anyway.

Is it worth it when you’ll have everything on one floor and they grow out the moses basket so fast?
