Hi Guys,

Hope someone can give me a little advice, I need to get a pram I’m due in 8weeks. Haven't really been out in the shops at all so no idea where to start. Its my first baby, my budget is around £2000. I already have a Doona for quick trips I just need an idea on what would be a good all rounder. I was looking at the Stokke Trailz but would like some recommendations.

Thanks Smile

We’ve gone for the oyster 3. Originally were planning on an Egg but then discovered the oyster 3 is essentially made by the same company. There are lots of similarities between them, but the Oyster 3 has recently been overhauled and loads of things improved and tweaked. Some of the problems with the Oyster 2 are still present on the Egg (which probably won’t be updated for another year or so, but when it does, likely to copy the oyster changes).

We found it one of the easiest to fold up and most compact. It’s got loads of quirky features - like the bassinet can be collapsed down flat (maybe useful for storage when outgrows in case of sibling), and little feet which make it rockable. We upgraded to the Cybex Cloud z seat though, which it is compatible with.

All fabrics are the same cost - no extra for “special editions etc”

£2000 is a lot of money to spend on a pram. Unless you have a phenomenal amount of disposable cash, you should be able to get a really good quality system for less than a £1000 (maybe a bit more if go for more expensive car seat and base)

I've been looking at the premium end and I don't think I've ever seen one go up to £2,000...£1,300 is usually the upper limit.

I’ve been looking at the Ocarro

I live in London and have the bugaboo bee and the yoyo for travel. I love both of these prams a lot. They're easy to get on the tube, buses, into shops and they're light for getting up and down stairs.

Our only problem now is we have another baby due in a few months so will most likely need to get a double pram. I wish I just went for the double in the beginning.

Will most likely get the uppababy Vista.

We tried out a selection and went for the Uppababy Vista.

My criteria was all terrain, easy to fold, nice to push. I did lots of research and did a one to one in store appointment. My shortlist was:

Bugaboo Fox 2: lovely pram and was my number 1 choice for ages. However didn’t like that you couldn’t fold it as one piece, and you couldn’t move the seat in two parts.

Mamas & Papas Ocarro: Loved this pram, plus point was that you could use the seat and carry cot from birth. Could fold as one (with the seat on), and the footrest on the seat could more separately with the recline. However am quite wary that M&P are closing stores, so don’t know where that would leave me with warranty, if something happened to the company.

Uppababy Vista: This was a last minute contender, and the one I have purchased. Reasons is better warranty. Huge basket, means I can pack picnic stuff for the beach / park or when I go the shops. Carry cot can be used for overnight sleeping, so can use this at friends houses and downstairs. Loved the push! Plus may hold value better as it can convert to double. Was on offer, so wasn’t much more than the Ocarro.
