Work expect me back after shielding even though I'm 28 weeks at that point and they provide full ppe mask apron gloves..... I can't see being able to wear this a whole shift without making myself feel ill!!
Also they seem to have just dismissed the fact at that point 30th June I fall into the 28wk category still with all the issues I had whilst shielding apparently there robust risk assessment will protect me whilst working in a care home 🤔
All this being said I think they are just annoyed I haven't been able to go since March pointing out I've been off for a prolonged period of time and my annual leave will be effected, I have a consultant letter telling me to remain in lockdown for the duration due to my situation being high risk.

If you have been told that you are ‘extremely clinically vulnerable’ and fall into the category of people who’ve been told to shield, you can’t be forced to go back.

Are you in that category? If you’re “only pregnant” like me then you fall into vulnerable. There are some helpful guidelines on working after 28 weeks on the RCOG and gov.uk websites, but this overview might help.

I’m a community pharmacist and have been put on furlough until further notice due to coming up to my third trimester. I believe you should fight your case with this as I don’t think you should be forced to go back in your situation! I quoted The RCOG when contacting my HR team so they could acknowledge women in third trimester should avoid patient contact. Plus you have a letter from your consultant! Hope you can sort it out :)

Have a look at the rcog website as mentioned above. There are some guidelines for employers/occupational health on there in relation to working in the healthcare sector.
It basically says that any direct, front line patient contact should be avoided after 28 weeks 'if at all possible' and an alternative role should be found.

Scroll down to the section on occupational health guidance

Yes I fall into the shielding category due to other health conditions but they are banking their hopes on that finishing on the 30th of June, I can understand as an employer it must be annoying and costly!!
