Sore and puffy lady bits

Alas I'm 14 and a bit weeks pregnant. The all day hangover feeling has subsided and has been replaced with sore, red, puffy 'bits'. 🤨

I got treated for thrush as I thought it could be that. It's not. I have read that some ladies suffer with dryness due to hormones, and puffing due to blood flow. I have no idea how I'll manage a do a good walk let alone sex (which I'd love to do so much!)

Seems that my boobs are lovely and sensitive, this is awesome, but the slightest movement in my bra and the blood rushes down there, I get puffy, red and rub, and alas- the cycle continues!

Any idea what I can do to help? I've got lube on order, have tried a few salt baths, apple cider vinegar baths. Cold compress too. Midwife in two weeks so I'll ask more then too.

I'm not even showing yet..😒

Does it get really sore and swollen after sex? I have this problem. I was treated for thrush too after a positive swab.
It has put me off getting intimate!
The gp said it could just be the increased blood flow down there which happens in pregnancy.

We haven't managed to have sex for a few weeks. Soreness followed by 6 days of those pessaries 😳 put pay to that.

Now I'm sore again and walking is sore. I have no idea where I stand calling the doctor. They issued the prescription over the phone last time but I think I'd need to see someone. Nothing quite like having to tell all to the receptionist. Part of me thinks it's swelling and dryness. It's pretty crap isn't it. Goodness knows how I'll manage at work doing an active role 😳😳😳 ouch 😓

I've had swelling down there since the beginning of pregnancy. Had it during first pregnancy too. Gets a bit veiny as well. Apparently it's due to increased blood flow. There's such a thing as vulvar varicosities. Not pretty but doesn't bother me much either. Last time it went away very quickly after birth.

Hope that helps x

Coconut oil is amazing for dry/sore/swollen labia etc. You can get it cheap in most supermarkets now

I found after my last baby it was also great after DC was born too, when I had stitches and general soreness

It’s a safe sex lube also

It’s also brilliant for piles, you can use it to help push any skin back in and stop them getting worse. (Why don’t we all talk about piles more, we all get them! Grin)

Thanks ladies. That's much appreciated. I went to the doctors and picked up a swab today and also did a urine sample too. They've not called me about the tone sample so I'm guessing that was fine and reckon I'll need to give it a week for the other. In the meantime I've been told to keep up with the cream and I've also bought some Sylk lube so hopefully that'll help. Reckon I'll have to leave off the close trim too 🤦🏻‍♀️🤣

So many things. I really wish I wouldn't worry so much. I just find the information is so conflicting and as I don't know what is 'normal' or not.

It's 'backache is perfectly normal' but be careful it could be a sign of a UTI

Stomach twinges, pains 'perfectly normal' but be careful this too could be UTI etc

Dryness- normal. But maybe not. Could be thrush

Constipation pain in stomach- normal! But be careful this too could be UTI

Nerves issues- lightening crotch - normal... but it may not be 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

My head is frazzled

I have had similar since about 16 weeks, now 29 weeks. I have varicose veins all over my vulva - I had this during my first pregnancy but only towards the end (midwife noticed it during my sweep). I have had it since much earlier this time. It just feels swollen, heavy and very uncomfortable. My consultant looked at it last week and confirmed that's what it is - she reassured me it is unpleasant, but nothing to worry about and will resolve after birth.
