TRIGGER WARNING: How do I stop feeling so anxious

BeanieBabyLovex · 16/06/2020 19:33

I'm so anxious, I can't stop taking pregnancy tests I have MH issues and part of that includes manic obsessing.
I am so grateful to have fallen pregnant but so scared of MMC / ectopic
I am only 4+3 so it's super early.. I want to be excited everyday I am blessed with this little munchkin.
Any words of wisdom / advice ?
Lots of love XxX

I am at 9 weeks and I am exactly the same! I promise myself each day I will try and be more positive, but I am constantly worried. I am really suffering from nausea at the moment, which is getting me down and means I am not able to do much, so instead I just sit here and obsess about missed miscarriages and problems and i am so sorry to say this, but I haven't found a way to fix it yet! I really hope you start feeling better soon and if there is anyway way that you find that works to make you worry less, please let us know!! xx

Also, just to let you know that between my first BFP and 7 weeks, I took over 30 tests so I totally understand that compulsion! x

@Belalice thank you for your honest reply, have you had any scans yet? I have booked a private scan so I am somewhat looking forward to that.
I'm going to try my hardest to be more positive and not obsess it's just so hard!
I need to decrease my online time massively

Yeah due to a couple of scares I have actually had two now and they were both totally fine. So there really is no reason for the anxiety, and yet we can't stop it! Toure absolutely right, cutting down screen time would probably help massively. Is this your first? x

BeanieBabyLovex · 16/06/2020 21:12

@Belalice yes it's my first and as much as I'm worrying so much I've wanted this for so long I'm 27 and have wanted to be a mum since I was really young
How about you? It's nice to know I am not alone

Please don’t beat yourself up about feeling anxious. It’s impossible to feel excited and happy all the time - I think most of us go through ALL the emotions when pregnant at various points, and anxiety is inevitable.

You can feel absolutely wretched and questioning your life choices one day, then happy and grateful the next!

With regards spending time online- my personal advice would be to try and stick to reputable and trusted websites where you can. So NHS etc. I find this forum amazing - you get the odd bit of nonsense for sure, but people can be amazingly kind and genuinely helpful. I have learned loads here (good & bad! Grin)

If your brain needs more information, maybe look into getting some good books to read , to learn about everything? Knowledge is definitely power Smile

I would also recommend finding a hypnobirthing course as your pregnancy progresses - I recommend the book ‘natal hypnotherapy’ by Maggie Howell, but I know lots of people swear by the ‘Positive Birth Company’ in-line course and book.

X

@Gerdticker thank you for your reply I will definitely look into this.
I keep testing and trying to convince myself they are getting lighter, I'm going to call someone today as it's not healthy for me or the baby x
