Anyone with complete placenta previa not bleed?

I am just over 35 weeks with placenta previa that is totally covering, the specialist told me 90% women do bleed with this, however I haven’t... yet!
Did anyone not bleed or bleed after 35 weeks for the first time? X

Sorry @Mummyspider27, I just saw your question to me. You may have had your baby by now of course!

My section was completely fine. It was booked for a Monday but on that day too many babies were already coming naturally and so they sent us home as our delivery was as higher risk and they didn’t want to rush it.

We went back on the Tuesday and all went ahead completely smoothly. There was a consultant and two doctors doing the c-section and a lovely anaesthetist who explained everything to me. They had ordered extra blood which I did find a bit alarming but we didn’t need it. I think I lost about 3/4 a litre. The hospital also did cell saver where they sort of recycle your own blood to save a transfusion but I didn’t need that either. I went home the next day.

I do hope all goes well for you. I know it’s scary but as I understand it, when they know about it in advance they are very able to deal with it safely.

@Proudpeacock

I didn't. Had no problems at all then had a scheduled c section at 39+1.
@Proudpeacock I wonder which trust you are in. Mine insist that I can not go over 38 weeks and booked section for me at 37+6. But I have no bleed and no contraction, so wonder if can let baby stay in for another week and section around 38+6. But consultant doesn't seem to support this here at Barts health trust

@avocado2019 I was at Birmingham Women's hospital. DS is 5 next week though so advice may have changed. Personally I would try and push for a few more days although the last weeks of pregnancy have a strange elasticity to them and seem like a month each so you may regret that. Smile

I had no bleeding at all when I had this and no idea that I had it at all - they discovered it during my elective c section that I had opted for due to a very long labour with my first child. Everyone was totally shocked. I had 3 blood transfusions afterwards as I did lose a lot of blood during the op as they hadn’t expected it at all. I recovered well and was home in 5 days.

I had been doing gardening the day before my c section!

Wow @Bagelsandbrie you were really lucky! Glad you and the little one were all well!

@Proudpeacock Thanks for the info. I read on line info at some other trust even said c-section should be scheduled AFTER 38 weeks. My partner has called the hospital to ask to speak to a doctor/consultant to discuss if we can fit in a date around 38+4. Our section is booked next Tue so feeling a bit stressful still having doubts in mind. But thanks for reply ;) haha I totally get the feeling that every day counts def longer than usual Smile
