Unbearable tooth and jaw ache!

For the past week I've had problems with a couple of teeth being SO sensitive and causing me a lot of pain which is also hurting my jaw and giving me a headache. I've tried the obvious paracetamol and brushing teeth with sensitive toothpaste but nothing is working, no access to dentists right now either. It's keeping me awake at night as it's worse when I lie down for some reason.

Anyone know anything else I can try? I am 35 weeks pregnant.

If you phone your dentist number, you should be transferred to a triage line who will go through info with you on the phone, and refer you to a NHS dental centre if needed. I had to do this last week...

I've had tooth and jaw pain when I have ear wax. Another avenue to try, wax ear drops

If paracetamol doesn't work and you can't quite pin point down the pain then it may be facial nerve pain rather than dental. Be prepared to go see a gp if you think that might be the case. I have Trigeminal neuralgia and it sounds a lot like you describe.

Dentists are now allowed to see patients (as of Monday 8th). However; they’re only seeing emergencies. In my view, unbearable toothache counts as an emergency so I would phone up and try and get in (but when I went on Wednesday they could only do a limited number of things - temporary fillings, extractions - no root canal or proper fillings)

Do you have hayfever or a cold at the moment? Sinus pain can be worse lying down?

Have you been clenching as that would give you a headache too?

With the sensitive toothpaste rather than brush with it, rub it on around the neck of your teethand leave it in place, This works much better than brushing alone.

Your dentist will be available for telephone help tomorrow even if they're not yet seeing people face to face.

I had to see a dentist last month, they've always been available for dental emergencies and unbearable toothache definitely counts!
Give them a call.
