I was lucky to mainly just have nausea but just wanted to express my sympathy, friends have had this and it's no laughing matter. Hope it goes away soon.

I had this for the first 4 months of both pregnancies and ended up in hospital on a drip both times. This is beyond normal and isn't something you should have to put up with. My doctor was an idiot and kept telling me it was normal but both times, as soon as I had my first appointment at the hospital, they admitted me immediately. Get thee to the doc asap!!!!

RDk - they gave me anti-nausea tablets but of course, I just threw them up too! Then they gave me an injection instead and I had a huge allergic reaction to it! So it was the drip or nothing for me really.

Good luck at the doctor's and hope you feel better soon. xx

I also had hyper-emesis with my pregnancy and was sick all day (and night) for 5 months. It was awful. I was in and out of hospital with severe dehydration and was off work for 5 months. Then, suddenly, it went! And I felt great, piled on the pregnancy weight. And then ... it came back for the last 3 weeks before dd was born. It was so dreadful that it's put me off ever thinking about being pregnant again. I couldn't cope with it while having a child already. Are you finding that aspect very difficult?

CHOCOLATEPEANUT · 23/09/2007 22:41

I had hyperemesis with all 3 of my pregnancies. I lost the 2nd baby at 25 weeks otherwise I would never had tried to become pregnant again, it was so bad. I agree that when you have a small child to look after it really makes it worse.

Mine felt like a hangover that lasted forever and when I am not pregnant, I still cannot drink as I cant bear to self inflict that misery on myself again.

Mine sloes doen at 5 months but I am still sick on and off throughout the day now (im 7 month) and my appetite is poor.

Its awful.Poor you

ive just got bad luck me

also woke up this morning with swollen glands so foned the doctors and they have no appointments so the receptionist spoke to doctor and foned me back saying " doctor said to just take paracetamol for head ache and not to take my tablets for head ache that doctor gave me before i fell pg as at this stage they could affect the pregnancy"and " if i can keep some food and water down i shouldnt be dehydrated ".

what use was that!

if im still the same tomorrow then im going down to the doctors and sitting there till im seen. maybe ive got some sort of infection due to the head aches sickness and swollen glands
