Just wondering if anyone's had the same thing happen to them before and what it meant for them?

I've just been to my 34 week midwife appointment. I'm 34+4.

All along my baby has been measuring on the 95th percentile steadily and it's been following this path fine.

She measured me today and the baby's gone off the chart. No where near a percentile line anymore and I'm measuring 36cm.

She told me that in two weeks she will measure me but "she probably will be sending me for a growth scan" I asked if I could go for one now but she said not yet until two weeks time.

I've booked a private scan now for peace of mind and I'll go there on Tuesday. But just wondering if anyone has experienced this before?

I feel really confused Confused

Try not to worry too much, especially as you've been measuring big the whole way through, so a slightly larger measurement seems pretty consistent for this pregnancy.

As I understand it, the normal procedure is to send you for a growth if there's accelerated growth (or lack thereof) for two or three weeks in a row, because measuring the fundus is a very inaccurate way to measure baby size. Ultrasounds are far more accurate, though they can still get estimates wrong some of the time.

@Williams3001 thank you for your reply!

I'm trying not to overthink it. I really don't mind if she's a chubby babe I just want her to get here safe and healthy.

That makes sense. I think the private scan before will help settle me down a little.
