Just wondering where you have all been buying your changing mats from please, I've searched the internet but didn't realise how hard it would be to find one that a. I like and b. Isn't too expensive!

Ikea.

I got a foldable mat thing to put in the nappy bag, then a plain spongy type for the house. I bought some hand towels to use to lay on top for changes as easier to wash.

Tesco. Six quid. Shove it under the sofa when not in use so I don’t need to look at it. For outside, I got a cheap fold up one for about £3 in B&M.

Following as I'm having the same problem. Managed to get just about everything online but can't find a decent changing mat anywhere!

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 10/06/2020 13:07

Grin yeah ours lived under the sofa too.

Lavenderpurple · 10/06/2020 13:08

Ours was a fiver from Asda a couple of years ago. Still going strong and will be coming out again in November for baby 2.

bloodywhitecat · 10/06/2020 13:11

Aldi, white with grey stars £4 for his bedroom and a cheapy, grey fabric backed folding one from Asda for the changing bag.

Sunsage · 10/06/2020 13:14

Haven't got it yet but will be buying from asda, its £5 and as others say it'll be stuck out of the way under the sofa!

WK29 · 10/06/2020 13:22

@Bellsx I’m planning on going a bit extravagant and ordering one from Mabel & Fox when we do up the nursery just because I think they look nice on top of the unit we’re getting 😂 (Absolutely unnecessary, I know but hey 🤷🏻‍♀️😂) but as everyone else has said, will be flinging a cheap one under the couch for downstairs!

LuckyC27 · 10/06/2020 14:11

I got a nice wedge one from john lewis to go on my changing table that was under £20 - other wedge changing mats that I had seen online were like £30+!

Will also buy a cheap flat one for downstairs probably from george or somewhere like that.

Teacaketotty · 10/06/2020 14:13

I think I bought a pack of 2 from amazon, one upstairs and one lives under the sofa Grin

If your in Scotland you get a fold up travel one in the baby box too!

Prettylittlelady · 10/06/2020 14:14

@WK29 you’re not the only one - I’ve got my eye on the Mabel and Fox ones too - same reason - they look beautiful Grin

firstimemamma · 10/06/2020 14:30

Jojo maman bebe.

Almost everything else I have is either second hand or cheap but imo some things are worth buying a bit more expensive and a changing mat is one of those things!

We had a cheap couple of mats but all the foam started bursting out of the sides and eventually they had to be binned. Would've been cheaper & less wasteful if we'd have just bought the jojo mats in the first place!

WK29 · 10/06/2020 14:32

@Prettylittlelady 😂 glad I’m not the only one! Most of the time I’m happy to go with functional things but sometimes I’m a sucker for something that’s pretty 😂

maybemaybeII · 10/06/2020 14:43

John Lewis. Think it was £10-15

thethirdbar · 10/06/2020 17:23

Cheap Asda one for under the sofa - think it was £5. it's grey with clouds on, not particularly glamorous but it'll be even less so when covered in wee!

We got a nice wedge one for JoJo Maman - this was a bit pricier at £20 but it matches the nursery theme so it would have been rude not to!

We've also got a Skip Hop changing bag which comes with a little folding mat for out and about - the bag was pretty expensive though at £70!

DHW1 · 13/06/2020 19:57

Aldi - I’m pretty sure they have a baby event coming soon also and it was about £3.99... don’t get a fabric one more likely than not baby will pee on it and you need something easy to clean.

FrugiFan · 13/06/2020 20:07

Changing mats are like £5 arent they? We got one from asda which was less than a fiver and I've seen them in places like aldi and lidl when they have a baby event. It's a bit of foam with a plastic coating, not much to choose between a £5 one and a £20 one IMO.

Xyzzzzz · 13/06/2020 20:17

Matalan

Ducky1900 · 13/06/2020 22:21

Mama and papas...
I did spend 20 quid on it, but it's lovely,it's been well used for DS, and it'll be being used again for baby 2 on the way!

mynameiscalypso · 13/06/2020 22:24

The Asda grey with clouds one here too - I think we have two of them actually. I found it hard to get enthusiastic about buying a changing mat.

FelicityPike · 13/06/2020 22:29

Aldi £4.

OlivejuiceU2 · 13/06/2020 22:29

Also got the Asda one with clouds and will live under the sofa

ishouldtryabiteachdayy · 13/06/2020 22:36

I had a fisher price one upstairs that was used for DC1 and it's still going strong for DC2. The cheapy grey boring one I had downstairs disintegrated, so this time I got a second fisher price one. Patterns a bit limited, but good size and sides well padded and firm. Cost £15 ish

excitednerves · 14/06/2020 06:29

TK Maxx (when they reopen) do lovely ones. Mine has tropical jungle and toucans on it. I love it and so does Ds. When he needs a nappy change I just put it on the floor and he crawls right over to look at it! Very handy!

GemmaJen · 14/06/2020 07:06

Shnuggle changing mat has been our go to - long lasting, not cold to touch and angled, so mid change pees don't soak their clothes - sanity saver! 😅 also meant to be good for reflux 👍
