Hi everyone. I am starting to preparing everything for when the baby comes and I got stuck on nappies.
With my husband we decided to use reusable nappies, however I cant decide which ones..
I have tried advice from nappy lady, however I am not satisfied..

I was looking for something like haipa daipa nappies (on a picture), but these are not available anymore...

Could you please give me your advice or experiences? What brand did you use, etc...
Thank you

Hi
So there are a couple of groups on Facebook which are helpful. I used reusable from I think 2 months (maybe 6 weeks) and used disposables before then
I would suggest going the nappy library route, as you won’t really know what the baby would fit until they are here!

That pics look a bit like little lambs to me, have you looked at that brand?

WutheringShites86 · 06/06/2020 11:43

Was just about to say the same as @anotherchangeanothername, they look like little lamb ones. I'm going to be using basic terry cloth nappies with little lamb wraps on top as it's so much cheaper.

We use BumGenius Freestyles. All in one, quick to dry, super cute, birth to potty, no need to soak. Easy peasy.

@LincolnshireandCumberbatch I used the same. For both DC, they were fantastic.

Looks like you want a two part system?
Some you could consider are:
Ella’s House Bumhuggers
Motherease One Size (probably the most like what you’ve posted but have poppers rather than needing a nippa)
Motherease Sandys
Totsbots Bamboozles

Or try looking for some ‘shaped terries’ which would be quite similar to what you posted. I had some secondhand ones when DS was quite little and they were great but I’m afraid I don’t know what brand they were.

Have a look at Bambam and BIG by Bubblebubs. They seem very similar to the Haipa Daipa.

I used prefolds with separate covers, worked brilliantly and used same set from 6 weeks to 3 years (just different sized covers) and used for 2 kids. 24 prefolds and 4 covers in each size. Disposables or rent for a newborn as they need to be smaller and only last 6 weeks.

I'm in a similar position and have just settled on bare & boho two-part nappies. The inner bit pops in so no folding, and the outer wraps are so pretty. They don't look anything like your picture OP so sorry for not being too helpful with that, but they might be worth a look.

I hope you don't mind me asking more questions but does anyone have opinions over storing used nappies in a dry bag vs soaking in a bucket?

Anotherchangeanothername · 06/06/2020 14:06

I never soaked. They went straight into the bag if we were out and then into the washing machine.

Just jumping on to ask, do you all have tumble dryers? I'd really like to use reusable nappies once we get past the newborn stage, but we don't own a tumble dryer (& no room for one) and I don't know if it would be madness to need to air dry them?

Anotherchangeanothername · 06/06/2020 14:23

I’ve never tumbled dried. You do need an a dehumidifier though!

Dry pail all the way. We just have a separate nappy laundry basket. Soaking is bad for elastics and PUL. If you have a few days between washes you can do a quick rinse and spin (or hand rinse and squeeze) between wash days if needed but generally you don’t need to worry if you’re washing approx every two days.

We have a washer dryer but do a lot of our dying on the line or a heated airer.
