Stay full time, go part time?! What else am I entitled to..

I am due early sept this year, single due to relationship breakdown.

I am unsure if any, what benefits I am entitled to. I am full time and earn 21,000 per year.
Does anyone have any advice?

I'm also being told it may be best to drop to 16 hours in return with being alone etc, that I may get better help but I realistically would like to stay above 30. What are people's thoughts?

Thank you for your time x

The 16 hours is no longer significant - it was connected to claiming tax credits that you can not make a new claim for. Probably, financially, earning about 15k would get you a decent wage and the perks of uc.

But net pay of about £600 generally will get you most benefits.

Plus you can claim 85% of childcare costs.

30 hours is possibly too close to the high end of the threshold.

Try the turn2us benefits calculator to try out different scenarios and see which works out best

Use the 'entitled to' calculator to work it.
16 hours isn't relevant to universal credit which is what you'd be claiming.

Would you not be better to stay full time until the end of your maternity leave? That way you’ll accrue your full annual leave allowance. You could then request part time before going back.

Yes sorry I meant for when I return to work, I will remain full time until I leave. Just trying to look at what is best for both me and the little one.

I will look into those calculators thank you x
