Am now almost 34 weeks and want to pack my bag ready.

I have

  • Maternity pads
  • Disposable underwear
  • Nursing bras
  • Nipple pads
  • 2 pairs of shorts
  • 2 Vests
  • Oversized t-shirt for labour
  • Robe
  • Toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, shampoo, brush etc
  • Phone charger and earphones
  • Snacks

This isn't including bits for baby. Is there anything else you would recommend I take with me? I'm not too sure what they offer at the hospitals.

You've put nursing bras so it seems like you're planning on breastfeeding. If so, instead of oversized t-shirt, something that opens at the front like an oversized shirt instead. And some nipple cream.

A pack of disinfectant wipes or mini spray?

(Hopefully in these Covid times shared loos and showers are cleaned between each use, but back in my ancient day it was reassuring to give the facilities a squirt of disinfectant if the previous user hadn't been very careful).

I liked this kind of nightie for breastfeeding- like an oversized T-shirt but with poppers/snaps down the front.

Also- jelly babies and/or lucozade sweeties.

I also took an iPhone speaker with a playlist downloaded on my iPhone. I had a water birth and had own music playing.

I absolutely loved a rose water toner that I spritzed on my face during the early pains. Took away that I'm so hot that I might vomit thing!

Mints or chewing gum.
Also my hospital is really crappy signal and WiFi, so make sure podcasts, music etc is downloaded to your phone before hand xx

@ArielJ

What about disposable underwear instead of maternity pads? I've been thinking about just getting a few packs of them instead, has anyone tried this or is it better to stick with maternity pads?
I haven't seen the disposable knickers in person, are they really really thick? If not you could perhaps wear them as well as pads, otherwise I'd stick to pads

I got some giant black cotton knickers to put the pads in but if your bleeding is anything like mine it will be extremely heavy and you might need to double on maternity pads (which are several times the thickness of sanitary towels! They look like surfboards!)
