Low lying placenta at 20 week scan

Hi all

Just had my 20 week scan and thankfully everything was fine with baby! But I've been told I have a low lying placenta and will need a scan again at 36 weeks to see if it's moved. Has anyone else had a low lying placenta and then it's moved?
I'm keen to avoid a c-section! :(

I'm 22 weeks and have a low lying placenta. It's being checked again tomorrow to see if it's moved. I am having an elective section for other reasons but I'll let you know if it's moved tomorrow

Same boat! 6 weeks until my next scan at 33weeks to see if it has moved.

Apparently 9 out of 10 do move, so I would try not to worry x

Same, hoping it’s moved by then! Most people it does...

I had my 32 week scan today to check mine and moved. It had moved well out of the way. Most do - 9 out of 10 apparently. 🤞 for you

I had this at my 20-week scan. I had another scan at 28 weeks (a growth check for something else, otherwise it would have been 32 weeks) and it had moved well out of the way – it’s actually high posterior now!

PP is correct, 90% of the time it will move according to RCOG.

Ahh amazing thanks guys! You've reassured me. Here's hoping! X

As I said yesterday I'd report back, had my scan first thing this morning and it's moved. 16 days since my last scan and it's nowhere near my cervix now.
