Long term co sleeping recommendations?

I'm just thinking about what I can do to have baby in my bedroom for as long as I can until at least age 1. My bedroom really isn't very big. I have a moses basket that will fit next to my bed but I won't be able to fit a cot in there and bed sharing isn't an option (I've bed shared before but dont have space this time)

Is there anything I can get longer use out of than a moses basket?

A next to me crib is probably the best option as they attach to your bed.
Pricey but apparently very worth it.
I have one, but not used it yet as baby isn't due until September!
However my friends and family members have all had one and they all raves about it 👍🏻

I have the snuzpod ( bed side crib) but my little one outgrew it by 7 months . You will likely need a small crib unless anyone has any other recommendations !!

Thank you! I will have a look at next to me cribs :)

I'm thinking just the same! Been looking at space saver cots as I don't think a regular cot would fit in my rook6

I didn't know there was such a thing! Thank you

I bought a next to me for about £20 off eBay or Facebook market place, just bought a replacement mattress to go with it. Doesn’t need to be expensive

I did have a look at some on Ebay/gumtree, none are close enough to me to buy though. I'm not on fb to check marketplace

Cotbed: 70cm by 140 cm
Standard cot: 60cm by 120cm
Next2me crib: 70cm by 100cm
Standard crib/moses 40cm by 90cm

If you've got enough space for a next2me then you've got enough space for a standard cot or even a large cotbed - since it's likely to be width rather than length that's the problem.

The easiest option, might be to take furnature out of your bedroom. A chest of drawers is about the same size as a cot. So if you put your drawers in another room then you'll have space. Or move out a dressing table, or wardrobe.

If you are planning on using the same baby bed furniture until your baby is 1 I recommend getting a cot and trying to fit it in. A small crib, next to me crib or similar mid size sleepers do not generally have a mattress you can lower and are therefore only suitable until a baby is 6-8 months when they can sit up by themselves. Once they can do that they may be able to lean over and fall out of such sleepers that aren’t very deep. A full cot can have the mattress lowered to several heights and will last much longer as they can accommodate a standing baby safely.

Hmmm didn't realise the next to me was so wide. I think I'll have to take a chest of drawers out of the bedroom. I think I've got about 50cm space at a push next to my side and less on my husband's side because of the drawers so I'll need to move things around I think.

Good point about when baby can sit up too, I didn't think about that. I think my best option is moses basket then normal cot when that is outgrown
