I didn’t. In fact haven’t throughout the pregnancy as my midwife said it wasn’t worth the risk. But I think loads of people do and it’s OK. It’s up to you and what you’re comfortable with.

I asked the midwife and she said they don't forbid it, and the risk to baby is low. I didn't dye my hair just to be on the safe side (and I have A LOT of grey hair). It's totally up to you - I don't think it would harm but that's your decision to make.

The first time I dyed my hair was in the second trimester and that was s semi-permanant one with no ammonia. I will dye my hair soon with permanant colour as my hair is ridiculous and I am now 22 weeks.

I did. Kept it up until lockdown but now my roots are horrendous! Grin

I waited until 2nd trimester and then used a semi permanent x

Professional Hairdresser here.

It's not recommended during the first 3 months.

Because hormone levels are so high in pregnancy and esp first trimester the most important stage for you and your baby.. You are at a higher risk of having an allergic reaction.. It could be mild or severe.

A patch test is recommended at least 48hrs before but if you are aware of hcg levels.. These rise every 48+ hours and so a non reactive patch test today could react later..

Hope this helps to understand why we don't do on scalp colour services during early pregnancy x

Added to previous post.

Ammonia free colours doesn't lower the risk of reaction, you can be allergic to any ingredient in the colours themselves, I. E colour pigment, developer, matalic salts :) x

Hi Ladies I'm 7 weeks pregnant and I've not physically vomited but I gag at certain smells and foods. For example I could eat a meal I like but if I later make it for my husband I gag at the smell and then can't have that meal anymore although I ate it a couple of hours ago is this just me or has this or is happening to anyone else ?
