I'm feeling really anxious today. Last night I had a dream I was having a miscarriage, woke up and when I moved I had a sharp pain near my belly button that lasted a minute, it then came back for a few seconds and stopped. This morning I thought I'd just take a pregnancy test to give myself peace of mind but the second line was more faint than usual. I'm really worried now.. I've had a miscarriage before and don't know what to do

This is just the time to start getting round ligament pain, which is much more likely than miscarriage at this stage. Your body is stretching and growing, there will be pains in your belly associated with that.

You might have been having ligament pain in the night that subconsciously made you dream of miscarriage.

It’s so hard when you’ve had a miscarriage before not to worry even when things are going well but try to relax Flowers

If you get any persistent pain that doesn’t go away rather than twinges you should call your midwife x

I agree with PPs. Also pregnancy tests test for hCG and hCG levels drop off after 10 weeks or so so it’s normal for the line to get fainter as your pregnancy progresses. But check with your midwife if you’re worried

I'm 18weeks too and have felt some cramping..I've put it down to being ligament pain..but it's a bit unnerving. The time between scans feels like a long time!

Don’t worry about the pregnancy test line- if you look at normal hcg levels at 18 weeks it says 9500-55000, but normal levels at 4 weeks start at 10.000, so you could easily have less hcg now than when you first tested! I’m 20 weeks and have had pains like that on and off- I always seem to find that a few days later my bump has grown, so I think it’s everything moving and stretching. Do call the midwives if you’re worried though, but does sound quite normal x

As pp have said the sharp stabby pain sounds like round ligament pain - especially as it came when you moved suddenly. It can be quite shockingly painful when you’re not expecting it!
