Window to the womb

I've heard lots on here about people having private gender scans at Window to the womb so that their partner can attend...I really want to do this however it says on their website no gender scans, only scans for medical purposes and also to attend alone!

How are people managing to get around these rules? Are they not really enforcing them? 🤷🏻‍♀️

Both my friend and brother had one of these scans recently so their partners could attend. They both booked for a general medical scan, but then on the form they filled in when they got there they both ticked the section which asked them if they wanted to know the gender. That was how they managed to find out the gender of their babies.

@thattravelphotographer Were their partners able to attend easily? Their website makes it sound like its mums only!

I think from the 1st June they are offering gender scans - if you go to ps pages on their website, it now shows as available x

I had a fetal health scan today at WTTW. My husband was allowed to come in with me (he's missed the last scans due to coronavirus). I believe that as of 1st June they are reinstating some of their usual scans (gender etc) but before that has been medical only, e.g mine today was very much a health scan and no fancy extras, during the lockdown they've not been offering their normal 4D etc. I find that they're really helpful when you email them with queries or to clarify anything - I emailed earlier in the week to check a couple of things including whether hubby could come, and they confirmed he could. Be worth contacting them Smile

Yes, in both cases their partners were able to go straight in with them, no questions asked.

Clemmie83 · 30/05/2020 17:49

@mrs87 Thanks, I might do that. It's our first and my husband missed the 12 week one due to the new restrictions which don't look like they'll be lifted for the 20 week NHS one. I really want him to be included and to find out the gender together!

@Clemmie83 Yes, my husband couldn't attend the 20 week which we completely understood but were sad about, especially as I was so so nervous about them finding something - they didn't, but I could have thrown up waiting on my own!

They were using PPE at Window to the Womb, all staff had masks and gloves and they gave us gloves on arrival and we waited outside until it was our turn.

I think as long as you do it after June 1st you should be able to have both your gender scan, and your partner there.

I attended one 3 weeks ago with my husband and they were more than happy to tell me the gender. You just have to let them know that you would like to know at the beginning of the scan :)

Seems to be my closest one is one the very few that doesn't allow partners in. We called before to check and they wouldn't let my husband into the scan room but he could wait in reception

I have one booked for Wednesday. It’s a gender and wellbeing scan. I also called and my partner can come with me.
