Where to online shop for baby?

First time mum and am bored at home! Want to ask where are you shopping for your baby's clothing?

We are having our first baby, a boy.

My budget is fairly flexible, hate any writing on clothing and prefer the classic look of how DoC dresses her children.

Have looked at John Lewis, mini Boden, Joules and La Coquetta( love! But maybe it's silly to spend so much?)

What other websites should I check out? Open for any smaller shops on Instagram or from other countries that ship to the Uk

Thank you!

To be honest the first 3 months they don’t need much beyond sleepsuits, vests, rompers (if born in summer) and cardigans (if born in winter). Outfits are not really very comfy for small babies and you have to change them a lot so they’re not ver practical!

I think Next and M&S have nice quality sleepsuits, we also got quite a lot from Sainsbury’s. Jojo do some lovely bits but the are more expensive so we only got the odd thing. Ditto mamas and papas.

Thank you! I think if I'm buying in the sales, I would buy for up to 12 months. Would that make sense?

I would be tempted to say don’t rush to buy too much at the start because babies are all different. My eldest runs really hot for example so he never wears jumpers or sweatshirts or anything like that because he gets too warm. We get some use out of hoodie type jumpers but anything else just never gets worn. He also hates jeans unless they are really soft and stretchy ones. My youngest tries to pull his tops over his head all the time so has to wear bodysuits with poppers and shorts/trousers over the top.

Obviously it’s totally up to you! I just know that I buy different things now that I have seen how things play out in practice than I probably would have done pre babies!

Boots’ mini club

Next, M&S, H&M (although the sizes are a bit odd when they're teeny). My DD lived in (and still does) stuff from Next & H&M. Zara too but their website is crap!

PirateWeasel · 28/05/2020 19:13

I second sunshinegirl above. My DS was an average weight when he was born but he grew at lightning pace for the next 12 months, outgrowing everything in a matter of weeks!

ThatDreamSheep · 28/05/2020 19:23

Matalan have some lovely classic bits, I also like H&M, Next, Marks & Spencer, and actually really love Tu at Sainsbury's although I am looking at girl clothes on there

mobear · 28/05/2020 20:26

There are some very cute clothes in the Trotters sale at the moment. If DoC is your style I’d also try M&S and John Lewis.

If you buy in sales, remember seasons! I got caught out a few times ending up with winter clothes in sizes that fit in the middle of summer!

Megzmoo · 28/05/2020 20:49

Jo jo maman Bebe is my favourite shop, m and s and Sainsbury's are also really good! 😊

Alarae · 28/05/2020 22:50

I love M&S for quality vests and sleepsuits. Also casual staples such as shorts.

Outfits are rarely worn (effort!) but any have been bought from ebay from Monsoon, M&S, Next etc.

Zoey92 · 28/05/2020 22:54

Matalan, george, H&M, next , peacocks.

George are fantastic value for money & multipacks are great

GlamGiraffe · 28/05/2020 22:59

For classic looks try millieandjohn.Com, trotters and Rachel riley. You will find s lot of very traditional clothes from Spanish companies like doña carmen who deliver internationally. Spanish sizes are smaller than uk sizes significantly.

GlamGiraffe · 28/05/2020 23:03

There are a lot of places in addition to the above mentioned I use, I can think of some more if you need or give me more specific details of what you are looking for. Personally i would say la Coquetta isnt great quality for the price which is outrageously high, I've tried their clothes on my child but never bought them because they are poor fors andxquality in my opinion. I also cannot possibly justify that price for something that will at baby age last maybe 6 weeks.

Cherryrainbow · 28/05/2020 23:04

Jojomamanbebe
H&M
GAP

Zulily is a great flash sale website and there's a great mix of designer and different baby clothing that make a change from high street stuff at affordable prices.

GlamGiraffe · 28/05/2020 23:11

Neck and neck is lovely too, forgot to put that on my list, I don't knowif they have online, I assume so. I usedto go to their shop in Chelsea which has now closed.

eyesbiggerthanstomach · 28/05/2020 23:13

M&S, John Lewis and Jojo.

They have a lot of the traditional, classic clothing with the cute Peter Pan collars.
