Hiya. Really struggling with food during my first trimester. I am almost in my second trimester. I can't bare the smell of eggs, things being fried, all meat so feel really limited. All I crave is salty food which is not good for me or the baby.

Can anyone recommend anything? Need some food ideas/dishes?

Thank you!! xxx

Hi congratulations on your pregnancy! I was exactly the same in my first trimester, I really only ate beige food and struggled with sickness. I always found things like jacket potatoes and toast and sandwiches quite filling and I was mostly able to keep them down! Once I hit 16 weeks my sickness completely disappeared and I enjoyed all food again! It did return in my final trimester so my doctor prescribed me some travel sickness tablets which have worked a treat! I'm due on Sunday 😁

For first trimester I live off jacket potatoes

I have a massive aversion to BBQ sauce amongst other things! 🤢🤢🤢 so I know how you feel!
Fish is a great one and lots of superfood salads and add that with a jacket potato (like pp said), for a lunch.
Breakfast, porridge as it's quite plain if you can't stomach cereal.
For dinner time, try and keep it plain if you can. Less smelly the better! Our sense of smell is heightened in pregnancy and the slightest whiff of something I've gone off is just horrific!
Toasty plain biscuits too for snacks.
Jamie Oliver has some brilliant vegetarian meals that are easy to make, especially if you can't stomach fish as well as meat x

In first trimester I lived off porridge and sour fruits like grapefruit and pineapple and Greek yoghurt with honey, but again I’d only have a tiny bit of honey to keep it sour. I also had an aversion to eggs. I used to make myself little snack plates with a baby bel, some fruit, cucumber sticks and a couple of crackers when I was feeling queasy but needed to eat. Now I’m in second trimester I’m enjoying ryvita with cream cheese and ham as a snack and Greek salads which gives me my salt fix from a bit of feta without too much guilt.
