How did your morning sickness start?

Hello ladies,

I am 5+3 today, first pregnancy. I have been getting waves of mild nausea for the last few days now. Not massively inconvenient but enough to make me stop what I am doing and sit down for a second.

I keep anticipating that this will turn into full blown morning sickness, but I'm aware that everybody experiences morning sickness differently. Some people have nausea but are never sick, some people vomit multiple times daily and some don't have it at all!

I am just wondering - you ladies who are currently pregnant or have been previously - how and when did your morning sickness start? Was it sudden (like, a switch went one day and you were suddenly really sick) or did it come on gradually?

Thanks!

Exactly the same both times, doesnt start out as nausea but coffee tasted off and I was convinced something smelled bad in the house. Both times I had this before my period was due and within a week everything was making me throw up..

2nd pregnancy my dh knew before me - he said he was suspicious when I complained the fridge smelled funny (but was fine to him) then when I accused him of buying cheap coffee he said he knew for sure Grin

I had super hunger/nausea week 6, then within about a week, I started being sick. Now I can’t even look at the microwave in our kitchen without retching as the first time I was sick was when I had warmed something up in it 🤦🏻‍♀️
The sickness was really bad 6+ times a day, got some meds from the doctor, worked for a few days, then started being regularly sick again so they switched me to something else.
Rather than all day nausea/feeling sick, I am now just randomly sick without much warning and I can’t allow myself to get hungry. Just trying to enjoy the good days and they seem to be more frequent now( I am 10 weeks ) 🤞🏻🙏🏻

Has anyone experienced nausea improving and then coming back to bite you? I was feeling really sicky last week and this week not so much. I am not sure how far I am as my private scan showed I was 5 weeks last Friday when I thought I was more so I guess if that is right I will be able 6 weeks now - got a second scan with EPU tomorrow xx

Hiya
So I think I am 7wks+2 but have a private scan tomorrow ☺️(hope they don't say I'm not as far) but I've been having morning sickness for about 2weeks only ever been sick once because I ate to much but I feel it all the time especially at night 🤮 Is the worst heartburn I drink so much gaviscon but the texture makes me feel sick and I eat the tablets like they are going out of fashion! Is anyone else getting serious heartburn🔥

Well the nausea has definitely arrived today. Woke up feeling off and retched at the thought of eating anything but fresh, cold fruit and veg. I ate a tomato like it was an apple!

Hubby cooked a lovely meal for dinner and all I could manage was the kale! I suppose it could be less healthy but god I do feel sick constantly...anybody got any tips?

Crackers and ginger biscuits make me feel sick. Living off of grapes and strawberries today :/

Oh no poor u! It's awful isn't it. I freeze grapes 🍇 sounds odd but I love them. Make smoothies but sometimes I can't hack that either. My DH made me a spoon full of lazy ginger in a mug of hot water the thought of it made me gag and I quite wanted to throw it at him but he persuaded me to try it and I did and it works it really does. I brought a smell stick thing from not on the high street you just rub it under your nose as you feel it and that's ment to help but I'm not sure it does 🙄x

Started with loss of appetite early on about 5 weeks- then struggling to eat as it made me feel nauseous, then only being able to stomach porridge and plain crisps. I was sick a few times between 9 and 12 weeks but picked up after that. I think I got off lightly considering it was twins.
