Exercise and the first trimester/ nausea, exhaustion

I keep reading that if you were exercising before then to continue in the first trimester. But I feel so nauseous all day, and exhausted that I’ve barely moved, never mind do barre or yoga or anything else. I was quite active before pregnancy, classes 3-4x a week.

I’m 10+2 now.

Does this change in the second trimester? Do you suddenly get a burst of energy and feel yourself again?

I’ve not put on any weight, in fact I’ve lost a couple of pounds. I feel like a shadow of myself - all I want to do is lie in bed and eat ice lollies. I’m still working (stressful and busy) in between heaves and danger naps!

Yes, most people find the nausea and exhaustion dwindles by 14 weeks.

You can only do what you can do, but if you can force yourself to have a go at exercise I often found it paradoxically made me less knackered in the first tri. But if you can't manage, then give yourself a break and rest up.

Yes, I was a keen runner and ran a marathon a couple of weeks before getting pregnant. I continued running and then had to stop at 6 weeks when the nausea kicked in. I returned to running in the second trimester and carried on until I was too big, at around 30 wks.

I was really struggling with exhaustion and breathlessness from about 6 weeks. Turned out I had low blood pressure and low iron.

It got a bit better but I'm 10w+3 now and it's more like, I just can't be bothered. It might be lockdown fatigue as well though
