27 weeks and movements

Hi ladies I'm 27 weeks pregnant and have been feeling my baby move from around 16 weeks with quite a good pattern of regular movements starting at 20ish weeks with him moving first thing in the morning then late afternoon I can feel him if I'm sat down and then he's very wriggly in the evening. Since around week 25 though his pattern of movement seems to of changed slightly and he doesn't seem as active on some evenings and twice now last week and yesterday I have been up to my local hospital due to me not being happy with this but he is absolutely fine. As I'm so far along now and from info that I've been reading I'm expecting him to have a regular pattern of movement by now and feeling much stronger kicks and punches but I just don't so I was just wondering for those of you who are around the same number of weeks as me what you are feeling at this stage.

I will add that I have a posterior placenta so should be feeling regular movement but on my notes last night when I got back from the hospital it said baby was breech so can this make any difference?

I'm just over 28 weeks and finding it goes up and down based on the position of the baby, I think I'm starting to notice a pattern though. I do have an anterior placenta, but feel strong movement/kicks/wiggles all over my stomach and have done since 17 weeks (was surprised to hear my placenta was actually anterior). My kicks didn't seem as strong yesterday and could feel hiccups in a different place so think they were in a different position, I felt the baby turn and then got some stronger ones like I normally do. One thing that seems consistent though is that they have hiccups at 5am every morning!

I have also been in when I've got worried, went in at 26 weeks as the baby hadn't moved for ages, as soon as the midwife put the doppler on, he/she kicked it straight off!

I don't any advice but feel your pain, I'm finding it quite stressful at times worrying about movement. I'm hoping the bigger they get, the easier it is to notice all movement! Good luck.

Definitely ring up with any concerns about reduced or no movements but I was told not to worry too much about patterns at this stage.
Baby's only really begin to establish a pattern from 28 weeks so that's when to really start looking at it.
I'm just over 28 weeks and have just downloaded an app to start keeping track.

I'm 34 weeks and still haven't managed to work out his 'pattern'
Every time I think I've got it, he proves me wrong and changes it up 😂
So frustrating because you do feel pressure to know they're okay!

So I just tend to make sure I lie down for a bit each day (not hard, I'm knackered) and just focus on feeling him move. So far it's working. He doesn't really seem to kick either, mainly like he's wiggling to get comfy! My placenta is anterior so may be why his movements don't seem to have a pattern

What I'm saying op is as long as you're baby is moving regularly and roughly when you expect him too I'm sure it's fine :)

I'm 29 weeks and haven't really found a pattern either, I just spend time throughout the day to sit and focus on the baby moving etc.

@sel2223 what app is that if you don't mind me asking? Sounds useful as I keep getting so paranoid!

Bellsx · 22/05/2020 16:18

Thanks ladies it's surprising to hear how many of you have anterior placentas so unlike me your movements would be more hard to feel. He is always good at moving first thing and mostly late in the afternoons it's just in the evening that he decides is when he's going to play up and chill out, such a worry but I'll always make sure I get checked out. Is that the kicks count app @sel2223?
