What does this mean on scan notes?

Hi all
I went to an early reassurance scan 10 days ago and had been given an EDD of 30/11/20. I went again today and had been told I am 11w2d pregnant making my EDD 2/12/20.

I know dates can change quite a bit with each scan but I am worried about the size of the baby. This scan was only to confirm heart beat etc and I had to sign something at the beginning to say they'd make no diagnosis's and it's more for "entertainment purposes".

They gave me this a4 page with info on but I don't understand this chart and what it means.

When I was given it 10 days ago it said 3.20cm and 27% but the CRL has only gone up a bit and the % has gone down. Is this bad or is it normal? He didn't explain anything on the page to us so I've been left googling which hasn't helped!!

I have my normal NHS 12 week scan next Wednesday where they'll be able to tell me more but I'm just worried I'll be given bad news when my DP isn't allowed in there with me.

Thank you x

CRL is crown to rump length.
Your baby’s is just over 4cm.
The solid line in the middle is the 50th centile.

They are so tiny at that gestation and rate of growth changes a lot. I wouldn’t worry!

Dates can change a lot in early scans as your baby is so tiny, even a mm can make a big difference. You'll get your official EDD at your dating scan when baby is a bit bigger so measurements tend to be more accurate (mine was a week later than the EDD given at my early scans).

The graph is just showing where your baby is plotting in relation to the average for that gestation. So the solid line in the middle is the 50th centile but anything between the top and bottom curved lines is normal.
Your baby is measuring slightly smaller than average but still within the perfectly normal range.

It just means that your baby is slightly smaller than average for estimated gestational age. Well within norms, and if you look at the timescale, a few days either way would make a big difference, so unless this is a IVF baby and you know EXACTLY when fertilisation took place this is not at all surprising

Ahhh thank you all! That has reassured me now. I hope the over worrying lessens as the baby grows😄
