Cervical Ectropy/ Ectropian in pregnancy

Hi ladies.

I am 5+4 and yesterday I was sent to EPAU because of spotting that all of a sudden started, plus horrendous sickness. I have HG and am being treated for that. But they noticed that I have Cervical Ectropy which I had never heard of before.
I've been told to expect regular bleeding. 24 hours later I had a big bleed which only lasted 10minutes and I'm back to spotting again.
Have any of you ladies experienced this? I have no idea how I am supposed to relax in pregnancy, knowing I practically have miscarriage symptoms every single day.

Me! Although it was much less frequent for me. I worried every time and went to get checked in the day assessment unit twice. It’s kind of reassuring to know there may be a reason other than miscarriage though.

Thanks for replying. How frequent was yours if you dont mind me asking?

hello!

I went to the MAU at 23 weeks and was told I have cervical ectropion after having a few incidents of bleeding from 15 weeks.

I’m 27 weeks now and have had 4 instances of bleeding the whole pregnancy, one triggered after sex and another after I was very ill and throwing up/on the toilet which they said may cause it x

Thanks Rosebud. I am having bleeding almost constantly. It ranges from extremely light to medium but it hasn't stopped yet. Theres so little about this on the internet it just feels so scary.

I had in my first pregnancy. It was terrifying. Got to 13weeks and had a big bleed that lasted days. They examined me on the first day given how upset I was and noted my cervix. Bled on and off (especially after sex) until well into 24+ weeks. It is so worrying but baby in question is now 4 and pregnancy and labour were all fine (apart from the ectropic cervix). Second baby also conceived and problem free pregnancy and labour thankfully with no ectropic cervix that time. Hope this helps, though always alarming, you do get used to what seems to trigger a bleed and if you know it’s that (have no pain etc) then it becomes less scary over time. Flowers

I bled constantly with mine throughout the entire pregnancy. Lots of trips to the EPU, then triage and lots of anti-D injections.
