I went to hospital yesterday to have observations to find out I was 2cms dilated and was having contractions (boy can I feel them now) anyway they doctor said I was in early labour but I’ve woke up this morning feeling very very sick and also have tummy ache and diarrhoea.. I’m a first time mum so I don’t know if this is normal? Could someone help a girl out please 🤮🤮

Hey! Yeah, sorry, throwing up is really normal. I threw up between every contraction for about an hour. They can give you something to stop the vomiting if you like, but I refused because it was giving me better relief than the gas and air Confused

FTM unfortunately but from what I've read it's very normal to be sick / feel sick whilst in labour!

KatnissMellark · 13/05/2020 05:03

Being sick in labour is very common. Good luck!

And 37 weeks is absolutely fine as far as the baby's concerned, so don't worry about that. Breathe, ask for help when you need it, breathe. Good luck, I'm here if you need me!

Thank you all so much I’m currently at home I got discharged from the hospital.. I have to go back when my waters break or when I am having contractions every 5 minutes x

Aw, well try to get sleep/ rest if possible. Sorry, that's the sort of advice that drove me insane when I was in early labour with DS1, but it is good advice.

My midwife said it's a positive sign that things are progressing. I've been sick during both labours and it was only at that point that they started to take my labour a bit more seriously!

Good luck I hope your baby doesn't keep you waiting long Flowers

Sickness & diarrhoea, are both common in early labour. Your body is just flushing out! Keep your fluids up, and try and eat small amounts as you’ll need the energy.
Good luck xxx
