After c-section clothing??

Hi ladies,
I’m looking for opinions and ideas. I’ve had two c-sections before but need a memory refresher (due to baby brain and/or age 🤪)...
I’d like to wear a maxi dress after having baby to go home in but have looked all over for options with no luck. I just want something simple, cotton and not going to break the bank (my last pregnancy). I’ve got my section scheduled for last week of August.
Any ideas? I’ve tried H&M, Zara, JoJo, Seraphine, TiffanyRose ... found nothing.
Thanks a bunch!

I probably wouldn’t go for a maxi as the extra fabric might make you feel like you’re going to trip, and after a section you want to feel as steady on your feet as possible! Also it might be hard to BF in a maxi (if that’s what you’re doing).

Boohoo has some good maternity sundresses which are suitable now and post-birth?

@shirleyphallus - aren’t there any nursing maxi dresses out there? I can’t fathom wearing a skirt because of waistband, not trousers (not at all) ...

I wouldn’t go for a maxi dress, extra material to faff with changing maternity pads and also I wouldn’t want to risk tripping. I went simple and comfy after mine, high waisted leggings and a tunic.

@Thesearmsofmine - I remember last time I packed leggings which rubbed my incision and I found it really uncomfortably sensitive.

Actually anything that doesn't go across ur middle is the best idea! I just wore my mat jeans that I wore on the way in. They were nice and baggy round the tummy area so very comfortable.

Either that or leggings with a very loose waist, I still found them sore even a few sizes bigger.

ShirleyPhallus · 12/05/2020 17:34

@MrsAmelia if you find any let me know! A strapless one would be good but my boobs were so enormous I really needed a heavy duty bra

I’d go for a knee length sundress

I wore leggings both times with a tunic over the top. My black stretchy leggings come up to my waist, nowhere near my incision...

That said have you had a look at ASOS for a dress?

I lived in tracky bottoms and high waisted leggings. Also had dungarees which were very comfy but had to unclip for breastfeeding.

I've been living in love leggings maternity leggings and they've been excellent. No rubbing at all.

I carried on wearing my maternity leggings for a couple of months! My bump was still massive for a few days after my c-section. I could barely walk out of the hospital so I wouldn’t worry about what you are going to wear too much.

Apricot has a nice jersey type faux wrap dress.
Very comfy after my hysterectomy

BeMorePacific · 12/05/2020 18:36

New Look have a really lovely stretch, black jumpsuit. It would be fine for breastfeeding and wouldn’t touch your scar. It’s also the most comfortable outfit ever xx

Babyshine2020 · 12/05/2020 18:44

Have you tried Dorothy Perkins?
I picked this up for £7 in the same snd they do it in a few colours. The elastic is under your boobs, it's so so soft & there's only one button behind the neck which is super easy and not fiddly at all.

I'm planning on leaving the hospital in it!

You’re all fantastic! I knew if I asked here I’d find some practical and spot on suggestions! Now I’m off to visit your shop suggestions and hoping I can find the right combo.
Thank you all 🙏😊

I went for high waist leggings because it held the dressing (and my belly) in place really well. I made sure there were no seams across the scar.

Watto1 · 13/05/2020 22:00

Remember to get high waisted knickers too! You don’t want your pants rubbing on your scar.
