Posted a while ago, still can’t make my mind up. Looking for a double electric ideally. I had a single Medela last time and stupidly threw it out...

Has anyone used the following?:

Minibie
Bella Baby
Elvie (the inside bra one, I’m aware these are single)

TIA x

Elvie is amazing, so quick but not as small as they’d have you believe

It has a 2 year guarantee for parts also

What about the medela freestyle double electric? I expressed everyday for 7 months with it and found it to be great

@ShirleyPhallus does it leak? I read somewhere that it’s better for smaller boobs also. I think I’m hesitant because it’s so expensive but if it really does work then it’s worth it. This is second baby and I have a toddler so worried I won’t want to be sat pumping when I could be playing with DD1 x

I have the ardo calypso double and it’s brilliant, really quiet and closed system so super easy to clean, which is always a bonus!

ShirleyPhallus · 11/05/2020 09:27

@mamablondie2 no mine doesn’t leak, I think it gives the impression you could go running with it on or something which you definitely couldn’t. Also some people find the bits a bit fiddly to put together, I haven’t found this at all.

Absolute LOL at it being better for smaller boobs. When breastfeeding does anyone have small boobs?! I have very large boobs and it’s no problem at all!

Hi OP

Recommended by the NICU midwife as My baby could be premature!

Spectra S1 Plus Hospital Grade Double Electric Breast Pump with Rechargeable Battery https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00DBKFFJM/ref=cmswwrcppapiii_g3qUEbCDB4CDB

mamablondie2 · 11/05/2020 10:39

@ShirleyPhallus haha yes I did think that when I read it. I’m a 34F when not pregnant or BF’ing and don’t even bother measuring when I am Grin (non wired all the way lol!)

Not used mine yet but I just bought the Ardo Calypso double after several recommendations.

MissingCoffeeandWine · 11/05/2020 11:46

Hi OP,
I’ve the Spectra reccomended above and massively recommend it. I tried so many other options and was so frustrated with expressing (hours for very little, which then made me worried I had a problem with milk production). Swapping to the spectra means I can pump a full bottle in 5-7 mins (sometimes less at different times of the day). It’s large and not portable, but quick and quiet.

Think with pumps it’s about finding what fits with your pattern of feeding! I’ve a Hakka for when out and about if needed (but this is incredibly rare, as I tend to just produce what baba needs now).

I had the lansinoh double electric one (chosen purely because amazon had a good offer!) which was decent but as I ended up exclusively expressing for twins I hired a hospital grade one from medela which is amazing but not cheap - about £45 a month. The babies liked the bottles that came with the lansinoh pump too, seemed to help with one’s colic.
Definitely worth getting an expressing bra too unless you decide to go for the elvie, as you then have your hands free to entertain the toddler!
