Can't take kids to hospital - can they go to grandparents??

So I have some consultant appointments at the hospital and they say along with partners you can't take children with you. I'm in a panic cos my partner has to go to work on those days. Would you drop your child off at the grandparents and say it's because of hospital appointments? (They're healthy and in their 50s). So anxious about the corona virus rules and stuff. Not sure where the kids are meant to go when you're in hospital whether it's for a scan/in labour etc. If you're a single parent and whatnot. So confusing x

From what I’ve heard, a lot of people are relying on their parents for emergency childcare (same as if you go into labour, it’s classed as essential basically).
Plus if your parents aren’t in the vulnerable category, I really don’t think there’s an issue there. Good luck with your appointments.

It would be classed as providing care so totally okay. Plus, what else can you do? You have to go to the appointment and someone has to look after the kids, don’t worry about it.

I'd just do it
